Sips of your coffee

Raining on this damp dreary day
Desperately longing for something to warm my soul
There he sat sipping his morning coffee
His phone in one hand smiling cautiously has he scrolled

My mind instantly becomes intrigued by his sweet innocents
The way his smile is only half there
My hands get sweaty as I look from afar
Pondering if you left that seat open for me to dare

I get lost within the constellations in his eyes from afar
The way they glisten in between each blink
I’m trapped in his virtual atmosphere
Desperately treading trying not to sink

He sits there slowly sipping his coffee
A taste for his longing, a desire I must capture
A longing for something more than I know
A longing that can be my anchor

My body physically is being drawn towards him
My mind racing begging it to just stop
My feet are floating above the ground
My legs aren’t so confident I won’t drop

I find myself staring into the constellations
No words from my mouth can be heard
You smile that half smile looking back at me
Would you like a sip of my coffee your voice slurred

— The End —
