‘‘Twas the sixth of January, a day so cold
A day with tumultuous events to unfold
A siege in the making with folks full of craze
With hate in their throats and eyes ablaze
They came in droves, one by one
The March that took place was all but fun
They took after the man, the one to drain the swamp
Of course the one I’m referring to, of whom they call Trump
November was a bust, for the dastardly Don
That old Joe Biden, the Oval office he won!
He tried to be hopeful that Georgia would come through
All that fell over when the state turned blue!
He said red-faced as he pondered his loss
That he can overturn and that he’s still boss
Stop the steal, four more years he campaigned and spoke
All conspiracies in hand all with him thought they were woke
He called on his Pence, his favorite little tool
“You rig on the game and I can still rule”
Tighten your hold and grind up the gears
And maybe I can get four more years
Rid of my haters I can end them I bet
As far in my mind, it’s not over yet!
Patriots they call themselves so they thought out loud
As they soon turned into a rowdy rowdy crowd
Red, white and blue they wore upon their face
Even one with horns and a helmet that lacked mere grace
They near Capitol Hill, MAGA gear in tow.
The sixth was here, they said, let’s go!
“Take the country back, for it is ours
From the redwood forest to the shining stars
No old man will rule, let alone a lady
The pair doesn’t blend, **** they are shady
We don’t like these two, they should not be about
They shall not govern us, we’ll drive them out”
I watched it all, they claimed law and order
They called for wall, yet they defied that border
Irony is strange yet funny all the same
To me, it was all a great big game
Broken the glass was, every window and pane
The right wingers crowd, so dog gone insane
They barged in madly, like pulling a heist
Yet they had nerve to slap the name of Christ
A Christ they know not, of His love and grace
Disservice they did Him, His name they deface.
They chase down the cops even one upstairs
As the fresh new Congress shook in their chairs
A standoff occurred, so tense, I did stare
The showdown was more than I could possibly bare
Then came the President with a message too late
Tone deaf it was, only stirred up the hate
“We love you”, said he, with squinty cold eyes
As his call fell on deaf ears and the volume did die
They stole, laughed and threatened sweet Nancy
A man from Arkansas who thought it was fancy
To sit in her chair while mocked her cruel
No mask he wore, dear God he was a fool
One stole a stand and thought he was cool
That they’re taking back the country using mere mob rule
Mob rule it was, they shall not succeed
For it is only hate that they secretly feed
That black and brown folks display their need
Their right to freedom and way to succeed.
They protested, cried and seethed for months
Yet it was leftists that were in their hunts.
The likes of Pelosi, AOC and Omar.
Ladies like them opened a huge deep scar.
Professed men of faith, yet they all crave strife
To the point that a lady lost her life
An Army vet, loved by great many folk
This Trump man shall bear this yoke
All this on his watch yet he didn’t care
He spoke to the world with a cold dark stare
Biden, the man that came before him
His face tortured and tone so grim
He called out that coward and band of fools
He knew his fan base were nothing but tools
Biden called on Trump to go all live
And tell these folks not to strive
Do not attack those in power
For it’s our time to shine, it is our hour
It has come to this, how divided we are
Many wonder is there hope or is it too far?
With so many, Trump’s guts they were a-riding
Yet so many despised the one called Biden
A man so old, gray hair to be shown
This red faced orange man, he sure did own
A brother to Barack, a partner to Kamala
That even some Republicans had to say, “Holla”
All this mayhem is a great apogee
From Charlottesville to this Capitol storming, you see!
The twentieth nears with hope and need
That the new team won’t fall to greed
Politics is ***** and it isn’t hard to see
Yet I appreciate the fact that I am so free.
For the next four years, there is still much to fix
We shall never forget that day, January, the sixth!
