The remnant moans of our ancestors
still lingers in the hearts that can hear them, as we walk a path they made easy.
We tread over unfulfilled dreams, wishes, hopes, cruel, violentĀ endings and still to this very day many of us are held captive by the shackles of mental and physical slavery.
Will we let the lives and deaths of generations gone by fall upon deaf ears and dead hearts? Will we let the precious blood that was shed senselessly upon the earth Be remembered in stories of old as some old fable or wives tale?
We must wake up from our slumber
Ignite the torch of equality
Hold up the banner of Truth
Unite as one human family under one God.
Divided nation, hear my plea
we must wake up together
Break the trance of differences
Focus on the similarities
Sever the Rope of mines and yours
Break the bonds of oppression
And maybe, just maybe our children
Will see the peace, bring the peace, be the peace and live in peace.
Maybe just maybe our children will walk an easier path.
