I watch him grow everyday
A familiar feeling overcomes me
His stubborn attitude
Never lets an opportunity go
To say his mind
Appearing to know it all

I remember being just the same
I never understood why it frustrated many
But it equally impressed others

Dad , I wish you were here
Your grandchild is all grown
Making all the mistakes that I did

She gets all excited when we get together
She tells me she gets butterflies in her tummy
Personally methinks its just Gas
With time it will Pass.

In silence I suffer
It seems to go on endlessly
It leaves me emotionally drained
Physically am a wreck
But I trod on
I will still keep at it
Even though the end is still not in sight

Every now and then when I hear her voice
Her excitement washes all the pain
Her smile numbs all the aches
She's full of life ,
A chat with her refuels me
She brings meaning to the suffering

She's my little girl
But she's more than that
She's my rock
Bring color to mind world
Makes the hard work worth it
The joy of providing for her
Makes me forget all the aches

What a teacher
How I wish I could reach ya
I need a guide right now
Am lost in the sea of emotions
How I could do with your presence

Dad, sickness and death conspired
With no pity, dragged you away
We fought, we tried
God knows we did
You did put a good fight as well
In the end you lost
Lost a good fight

Now I sit here with a blank stare
I long for your stories
Wherein, a lesson lay
I got to trod on
With unsure steps
Chart my way through life
Knowing you're no longer here
But your words will light my way

Like the Little Simba in the Lion King movie
I stare blankly, confused and pained
As voices of doubt engulf me like wild fire
Then I hear a calming voice
A reassuring voice saying
"Stay calm child,this is a cycle of life
I've run a good race , I've kept faith
Now ... Go on and give life a good go
Enjoy moments and make lasting memories."

Dad ... Thank you.
I mumble.

Don't look for too long
Lest your heart will long
You know that would be wrong
It will leave your heart with a sad song
Sleepless nights will be your company
Just because you saw what she denied many
She left you craving for her honey
At times I think she's a phoney
Maybe to be with her you need the money
Boy better walk away
Otherwise your heart will lead you astray
You know with you she'll not stay
In the end you'll have no say

She walks elegantly
Oh she moves like ballerina
Like wild horse
She's free, untamed
Anyone who sees her is captured
She lingers on in the mind
Well after she has disappeared from sight
Many want her company
Want to keep her for themselves
It never happens
They all be left thirsty
Their bodies aching for her
Truthfully they can't handle her
Undenying beauty
Sharp wit and good sense of humour
But she wants a Stallion
Someone brave like a lion
If you want be a companion
Otherwise keep walking on
