Teenage love was exciting,
Grown up such young fools.
Dosing in old buildings,
Crazy, no home, no rules.

Stealing food, stealing cars,
Didn't care I had you.
Teenage love was invincible,
Too high to see what was true.

Curling up to each other,
Our first bedsit so cold.
No money or nourishment,
I had your hand to hold.

Unable to control emotions,
Frustrations shone through.
Fighting became normal,
No more me and you.

I love you this day,
More than thirty years gone.
I see it so clearly,
Teenage love is still strong.
