Pathway to my heart
Edmondo Dec 2020
Pathway to my heart
Walk with me trough this beautiful darkness
Narrow path beautiful lights
Shining red eyes and a crooked smile
Uneasy to understand most nights
But some days can find blissfulness

Lying tongue with honest intentions
Been hurt more than a handful of times
So I hid it in one of those smiling trees
In the forest of false hope and illusions

Hard drink burn his chest
Can barely keep it together
But that’s what he does best
The drunk never lie but his thoughts get lower

Say hello to the torments
The most truthful promise with one condition
Heal those wounds and miss directions
I will show you love with perfection

Insecurities
Edmondo Jul 2020
Where did they come from ?
I seem to have a lot of them
It’s a lot of poverty where I’m from
First love cheated so probably started one of them

I’m black, Haitian to be precise
African roots, mwen pale kreyol, my mothers tongue;
Mais je peux ecrire la lange de mes maitres;
I learned to compose poetry to ****** my first love.

I lie just as much as the next man
mon amour ne me dit pas que tu m’aimes.
I’m realizing I’m really toxic now
But I care more than the next man;

Show me you love me don’t just say it
I love myself so I love you too.
I’m Haitian so this piece is written in three languages
American English, French and Haitian Creole
