Not brothers in arms,
Shell shocked,
Or trench footed,
But committed to resolve,
All the same.

Our needy and infirmed,
We shield from harm,
But like a ******,
Our enemy,
Engage.

So we rally together,
In the face of a tyrant,
Invisible,
Though they may be.

We remember,
Endure,
Like era before,
And sing death,
To COVID 19.

I'm surrounded by the ones I love,
Ectastic, I'm so lucky.
My child, the one I hold above,
Is safe, god I'm so lucky.
The best of times,
Dressed as terror, isolation,
I'm so lucky.
Food on my plate,
Roof over head,
God I'm so lucky.
So no hard word here,
It is depressing,
But my God I am so lucky.
Gracing health,
As lord,
All our care,
We are all so very lucky.
As novel suggest,
Novel be,
If untouched,
We are all so lucky!

Six years gone,
So I try to remind myself;
No energy is lost,
Not the light off their face,
Not the sound of their voice.
It just gets more disordered.
Like our memories,
It becomes a hazy mesh.
Yet there was a time where it was complete,
Eternal.
We never die,
Just become harder to understand.
The light you seek,
The voice you long for,
Is out there.
You're just in the wrong place to find it.

As day ends,
Light outstretched,
It's Crimson to the eye.
The days' Blood?
On all our hands,
Written in the sky.
Our mortality revealed,
Too soon for so many,
A pandemic so they cry.
Our lives,
Of which we cherished,
Replaced with live or die?
But in hope,
So we realise,
The meaning of our lives.
Not in wealth,
Not in compare,
But in subject life's defined.
That is family,
That is home,
That is neighbour,
What feels right.
Not in wealth,
Not in compare
But in subject life's defined
