Emerald Kaleidoscopes
Robyn Taylor Jul 2020
Sit with me in this quiet
Lock your eyes to mine as My Soul starts a riot
Time didn’t stand a chance in this story
The universe conspiring & smirking at the glory
There you were...
Walking through this life without obscure
I saw a glimpse of emerald in your eyes
The storm was brewing despite our own demise
Your kaleidoscopes beamed light through my heart
Regardless of the ending... this is where we start

Our souls dance in glimmers of green, pink & blue
If I know of anything, to be true... it would be You.

Lady of Darkness
Robyn Taylor Jul 2020
In the corner she sits and stares
As she watches me through her contemplating snares
Laughter fills the room
As she approaches & brings with her unprecedented doom
She grabs the light within me
And starts a waltz, ignoring my plea
The laughter starts to fade
Ring around the rosies with never ending words she played
Leading me further into her corner
The funeral she has planned, needs a mourner
As I step towards her, my eye catches the light
My Soul clinging to every inch of the internal fight
Lady of Darkness wraps me in her coat
Using a broken cup to scoop the ocean out of a sinking boat
Suffocating as my toes find the oceans floor
Realising in that second, this was a make believe war
Lady of Darkness sinks beneath me
She finally heard my plea.

Faith
Robyn Taylor May 2020
Faith...

Just a simple word
But yet not to a broken soul deterred
One step at a time, no matter how lonely it may be
As you move towards the light, your heart will see

Fear riddles your throat as you choke through your prayers
In the darkness of your room, you lose the fight against their snares

Hanging by a thread still means you’re hanging on
Allow your heart to give in to what it longs

Shatter Me
Robyn Taylor Jun 2020
Sit with me in the dark
Whilst on these pages I spill my heart

Time holds no weight
When you put your soul at stake

Naked into the light you step
Leaving behind all fear & forgotten regret

Ripping apart your rib cage as the light shines in
Love was never a game you were going to win

Beacon of Light
Robyn Taylor May 2020
His eyes were dark and lost in a stormy sea
In his gasping breath, he asked me to leave him be
During that moment I chose to be his beacon of light
So silently he could know, he wasn’t alone in this fight
His eyes flickering between lost and found
In the darkness, His heartbeat was the only sound
He tried to close himself inside those walls
Believing he wouldn’t fall....
I stood in front of him, silently reassuring his fears
No matter the speed, I let him know this was his wheel to steer
Whether he be my next chapter or just a paragraph
I allowed him to know, at this cruel world, he would need to laugh
Don’t shut down to the winter days
Through each season... I would be here to stay
I didn’t want to fix him or evoke change
In my eyes he wasn’t broken but maybe a little strange
He saw the world in colour during the darkest of nights
Today... he accepted me as his beacon of light

Tug of War
Robyn Taylor May 2020
Tonight... My heart is weighed down
I gave away my kingdom, but he stole my crown

Something in me tugs at every inner voice
Be patient.. Stay. Don’t make a bad choice.
I don’t want my heart to crumble
Yet towards this inevitable outcome, I stumble

Tug of war day by day
Yet patiently my soul sits & stays

My mind sees the logic yet my heart neglects
My heart is longing but my soul wants to protect.

Just Tonight
Robyn Taylor May 2020
Love me for this meat bag
Whilst my broken wings, behind me drag
I will fix your halo while mine breaks
Even if its my own soul, at stake
Your demons are lurking in the dark
Come into the light, I will show them my spark...

Keep smiling while we waltz to this song
For these are the smiles we will lose, in a world so wrong
I will allow you to lead
If its my hunger that you can feed
Starve your curiosity through your finger tips
Trace my veins as we lose all our grip

Stairwell kisses leave us deprived
A hunger our souls can no longer deny
Your eyes stain my skin
Because of you.... I give into my sin.

Bottled Memories
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
Let’s scoop up our memories in perfume bottles
Leave them on the shelf, until our love throttles
When life whisks you away, pour out a drop
Reminding you, to take a second to stop
Reminisce on the smell of long Sunday mornings
And the wreckage left behind from when it was storming
As time keeps you from me
Look at that perfume bottle & let your soul see

Witching Hour
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
It creeps in with the dead of the night
Every thought, every emotion throughout the day she silently fights
Some one once said “it comes in waves”
Memories mixed with self inflicting voices, leave her in a daze
Ritualistically tossing & turning throughout the witching hour
Nothing left, but her own heart to empower

Trees out of the ashes
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
Today I sat Infront of her,
Watching silently as the chaos inside her, would stir.
Her pale freckles hid shyly from the moonlight,
Not knowing what internal struggle, she needed to fight.
Her eyes the colour of the untouched parts of the ocean,
Untold tales of the sailor’s emotion.
The storms brewed quietly with no expression,
The clouds darkened in her eyes with untold confession.
Her lips drew up into a smile,
This is a road, I could see, she has walked for a while.
Her feet clean yet bruised from the path,
Always underestimating her own wrath.
Her skin the colour of a cold winter’s day,
Her Soul, like raw unmoulded clay.
Her hair shone like an angel’s halo,
But her spirit was like an erupted volcano.
Elegant in her destruction,
But ignorant to her own deconstruction.
It was only once she had turned everything to ash,
That the wall she built came down in a crash.
No one was left to bleed,
Now all she had left, was the words turned into a seed.
I watched her nurture and grow,
Days passed as the world turned into snow.
Spring came and her seed bloomed,
Whilst she ensured her demons were entombed.

So today, I sat Infront of her,
And forgave the things that were.

Indigo
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
He spoke softly to her whilst drowning in candle light
His eyes lost and his Soul surrendering to the fight
She didn’t know where he had gone
In that moment of silence, her heart found its song
His eyes fluttered back up to find hers
The indigo in her was his lure

White Lace
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
In the corner of a dark cupboard, there you hang
In your own memories, waltzing to the song you once sang

Pearls and lace dripping from your sides
Lost within your own darkness, there you reside
Echoes of the laughter and tears from that day
Now louder than whispers, they become screams..... as you decay

Your train sharing kisses in lost rivers
Now those kisses leave your bodice in shivers
On that day, you shone brighter than the moonlight
And now.... out of mind and out of sight

You represent all the perfection in loves kiss
But now locked away in the dark, it’s life you’ll miss
Something old, something new
Something borrowed and something blue

The body you once hugged has shrunk to bone
Surrounded by love yet so alone
She didn’t know this would be the story
The knight became the dragon in all of its glory
As you begin to gather dust
The same body that wore you, will begin to trust.

Twinned Circles
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
Intertwined circles have no end,
Unbreakable yet can bend.
Following their own design without a flaw,
Yet not knowing about their Karmic law.
One circle ignited sets the other a flame,
Whilst both burn ignorant to the fact that none will remain.
The flames create hues of rose,
Whilst one burns brighter, the other one dims as not to impose.
They forgot that whilst one burns bright,
The other loses the fight.
To take from another,
Whilst the other one smothers.
Was never the intention,
But after all, maybe it was their karmic lesson.

Cigarette Stained Suicide
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
A cigarette smile with a stained embrace
The lines of deadly remorse engraved on her face
Her breath as sweet as arsenic through my senses
The beautiful euphoria of ****** flashing false pretenses
Laying unloved on the white sheets
Feeling all life reducing from the nerves in her feet
Her hand gracefully enduring the cocktail of pills
Loosing the fight against her will
Her gasps of air shortening to an extent
Feeling ****** to her thoughts, she repents

In the back of her throat, the pills congest with cries
But on her wrists, are the scars of the lies
The carpet stained with arsenic and the smell of blood
As she takes her last gasp, her lungs with poison over flood
On the bed next to her blood drenched fingertips
Lays a letter, slowly burning from cigarette nips

On the floral paper, it read
“Remember everything I said”
Words unfinished and it was signed
With the last sentence reading “Compared to deceit, death is kind”

Let’s dance the night away
Whispers are promising but we can’t hear what they say
Take my hand and I will lead
No compromise in the sense of greed
We will swirl until we can’t see the floor
Energy crying from our hearts for more
We break the beat with our smiles
Letting go of all discomfort and denial
There will never be silence during this scene
Instead of your hearts whispers, I hear it’s screams

We move closer as the beat intensifies
Not losing the connection within our hearts and eyes
Inspiration of house beats flowing through our fingertips
Movements that create laughter as we start losing our grip
The crowd grows and the shy ones disappear
Moving towards the middle, letting go of all fear

The beat becomes familiar and we dance to become one
Knowing the battle against the dance floor has not been won
Faces of friends smiling back at you
The surprise of them not knowing what you could do
As the air grows hotter and our bodies reduce the heat
The music moves through our souls, we are the beat

The intoxicating liquids take control
Forgetting every bad thought as the influence takes its tole
The eyes of the crowd wander to places unseen
Every movement creates illusions of a dream
Take my hand and experience this flow
The base breaks down the beat as the girls start dropping low

Staggering stares as you become brave
Remember the last dance... we should save
So that the beat will go on in our heads
As we lay awake, later on in our beds
Our ears ringing from the Incrediable sounds
And this is the exact reason why house music was found.

Deception from the womb
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
Through all your burdens in life you stood tall
Not taking grace in every fall
Seeking a hand to lean on
Seeking a soul to tell you, you are strong
Letting go of all past fate
Nothing can interrupt this road, so narrow and straight
You followed your heart and tried to live out your dreams
But every minute of every hour got ripped from the seams

Hopelessly in death you wait
Seeking the help of the lost, seems too late
Recklessly on your knees you land
Never reaching out for the sympathetic hand
You cried your tears alone
While my heart grew as cold as stone

Seeking comfort in the shoulder you pushed away
Blocking out the screams and cries echoing  day after day
Your path of life has lost its will
Every memory captured in a frame, standing still
The dust of every year still remains
No cleansing touch to wash away the stains

Tears staining the covers every night
The feeling of self control turns numb after every fight
My words and tears shattered down the hallway
As I stand here pleading for you to stay
With a simple empty smile
You realize you lost everything traveling that extra mile

You cry words of guilt and self pity on the other end
Through life, for myself, I would have to vend
You lost the most important part of you through your selfish cries
Now I’m standing here, holding out my hand, and whispering “atleast I tried”
You look at me with deception
Knowing throughout life, your pain was my resurrection

The sun will shine for you again someday
And when it does, I won’t be standing in your way
I’ve lost every anointing feeling for you amongst your false words
Knowing I was alone for so long, yet to you it never occurred
You have suffered your pain and hardships
And tagging me along, never losing the strength in my grip

You fought for what your life was worth
But losing all hope on the day of birth
I sat in a corner, hearing you scream
Tell me, was this your fulfilling dream?
You always whispered “reach for the stars”
Even though selfishly believing I would never get far

You let me run without holding me back
Knowing in my heart, all you ever are is everything I lacked
Turns out this Apple fell far from its tree
But you were too blinded with obsession to see
I can’t say I forgive you for what you have done
You found faith in the pills, razors, bullets and gun

This chapter of my life has ended
It was the selfish lies of death, you befriended
These four walls are hopelessly closing in
In your state of being, you convinced yourself, you were free from sin
I won’t cry your tears for you anymore
I will walk away when you crumble to the floor

It’s hard to sit here and say what I need
But for your whole life, your happiness was feasting off your greed
Hate is a strong word but I will use it
Again, as selfish as you are... Your wrists, you will slit
What happened to the days when you use to be my hero?
Now in your life, you have nothing left to show

Psychotically you believe you tried
Just know, to me, that belief was a never ending lie
Burning hurtful memories will be carried to the grave
After all this time in my life, I can finally mutter “I’m okay”

Fallen Grace
Robyn Taylor Apr 2020
Her grace had fallen, lost in an ocean of neglect,
Her heart in her hands, even that she would reject.
The world watched in conspiracy as she would bleed,
Her internal library gathering dust in a world that couldn’t read.
For decades she has spilt the ink over her pages,
Trying to unleash the demons from their cages.
Little did she realize, in her cage was where she setup her dinner table,
And it is there, where secretly her demons she would cradle.
The world had this quiet torment to it,
Which was disguised by human wit.
In the eyes of lovers, she would find temporary peace,
Camouflaged love knitted in the sheets’ crease.
“I love you” they would say,
But in her heart, for her, she knew this area was grey.
The world was painted black & white,
Yet the grey area was her internal fight.
Maybe one day the grey would bleed colour,
Only over her & never again, over a lover.
