I was sleeping
With your shirt on
While she was
Sleeping next to you

the blame is on me
for believing in
your soft spoken words of
“I’m here for you.”
you never were
you never meant to be

your eyes glistened
every time you’d look at me
they shined bright
with love and affection
when I look at you now
your nostrils flare
your eyes
have no fire behind them
how do I relight
a fire that doesn’t want to be sparked?

are words you’d utter
with confidence
now, every word you say
is filled with reluctance
you never say always anymore

But, how come
When I’m happy
