Theo
Jack ludena Aug 2019
When Theo stares along the trees,
His thoughts spread out among the leaves.

At times they move so gracefully,
but there’s much more we cannot see.

He sees a storm as chaos nears.
It brings him oh so close to tears.

For storms are bad and he knows why
The storm decides If he should die.

The wind comes quick and dead leaves fall.
Weak thoughts rip free at beck and call.

few that remain are strong, they win.
The deep dark thoughts stay firm again.

The wind picks up, the rain arrives.
Lightning erupts as Theo cries.

He grasps the cord that’s stashed away,
He thought he’s use another day.

A hangman’s knot with twists and turns
Brings Theo closer to an urn.

The cable strong enough to ****,
Bends and ties at Theo’s will.

A boy who long ago could smile,
Can only fake it for a while.

A boy who’s thoughts are strung along,
Clumsily dangling by the twigs.
He finds a branch with just the strength
To carry him into the sky.

From the thoughts who drove him away,
He is finally given peace.
The boy called Theo
Is gone.
