My lips smile, but my heart feels hollow,
I pat my little one's hair and coo love to her, my fingers moving through the softness,
Her giggles entrances me and for a second I forget my pain,
The very next moment I turn and my smile again feels shallow,
My cat purrs and treats me to a velvet fur rub,
I bend down and stroke his silky body,
As he butts his soft head against my leg and blinks those jewel eyes,
My heart for a moment is transported into his innocent world,
Stab! comes the pain again, as I walk away from him,
I fold my hands in reverence for the Almighty and
Let the calm wash all over me,
A tiny voice piped up inside,
"He has given you so many things to love...
why dwell on the pain? "
Suddenly my heart lifted and soared,
I smiled and this time it was a glow

Love is but.....
It knows not the world's ways,
it wants to do what it says,
Alas! time is a teacher who teaches the heart well,
You  dear heart, need to learn it and dwell,
Love and value are only for those,
who get the big bucks home.
those who bore you and those who now bear you,
will only shine for you when you make them sit
on velvett and expensive faux fur,
and a your loving salutations will be just like the air,
there but invisible to all who are blinded by the luxuriant glare,
You can all but lay yourself at their feet,
give them your precious time and love sweet,
but nothing like diamond or a foreign trip
to get that benevolent smile or that warm grip.
Love is but a good that can be bought and lost
with a fluttering of a paper note .......

Little rose
A little sprig of tiny green leaves,
light green with almost invisible red border,
it seemed to spread its arms towards me,
will you take me for yours?

My green thumb whispered,
" I am no good, don't take it,
it will just wither away and die,
and you will rue it for sure."

But going against its whispers,
I scooped up the precious bundle,
and brought it home.
And there it sat on my sunny window ledge,
Cheerful and freshness galore.

A little watering and warm sunny hugs,
Soon the darling started flowering and flourishing,
giving out little orange and white roses,
Little thrills ran along my spine ,
As I touched its fine and silky petals,

My green thumb was celebrating its success,
And I drank its beauty everyday,
Today, it stands proud with glorious velvet bunches,
Looking at me and singing to me,
"Didn't  I say , take me for yours?"

Looked up at the moon in the dark sky,
Alone, but sailing with me, wherever I went.
Aaah ! whatever happens in life, you will always be with me, said my lonely heart
Friendless and alone, I looked up at the sky,
The moon was there, just there with my lonely heart.
Rocked my sweet babies to lullabies, looked up at the sky,
The moon stared at me, just me with my lonely heart,
My broken heart bled with the unrelenting pain that life gave me,
One after other, the betrayals came and pierced my lacerated heart,
Till with each beat for life, it pushed out hot and painful loneliness,
But each time, I looked for the moon, it was there, in the sky, just there with my lone, torn heart.
The moon is out there in the sky, alone and friendless just like me,
Darkness enclosing us, and not a warm bit of hope to light us up,
But we are there for each other, alone and together in our loneliness,
Pain bonding us and pulling my gaze to the splendid sphere of companionship
