Compromised
Kirsty Feb 2019
As the light fades
The darkness creeps closer
Bestowed deep
Your fear it reeks

Shadows consume
All that is left exposed
Your vulnerable position
Remains compromised

Questioning your weakness
Will inhibit your growth
But your desire for greatness
Will seek out the truth

Feeling
Kirsty Apr 2019
Feeling helpless, worthless
Looking for a resolution
Combing through your problems
Desperate for a solution

Feeling deflated, broken
Your senses have awoken
While everything feels strange
You're still longing for change
feeling slightly broken today, hoping the change is going to come!

unspoken
Kirsty Apr 2021
I creep down the stairs and slip ominously into the room
Unnoticed, all I wanted was to bring you a smile of happiness
To make you feel precious, loved and special
Leave behind the blinding fog and the weighted gloom

Fear only consumes an ego left vulnerable, damaged and broken
It lives and breathes off the unconscious mind
Hoping you remain desensitised , empty and numb
Longing for you to stay silent, mute and unspoken

Inspiration
Kirsty Jun 2019
Daylight overshadowed by the melting night sky
Opportunities never ceased will always slip by
A leap of greatness is a step away from fear
Above and beyond so far yet so near

Finding peace
Kirsty Feb 2019
As you lay floating in the depths of the ocean
Is it entrapment of the unknown that freezes you still
Or the bewildering sense of absolute freedom?

The calm of this cruel tempting mistress
Clouds all your judgements
Am i lost or free?

Searching for answers to inexplicable plights
Plagues your desires
To break the surface

The sunset reflects against the open abyss
As the day draws in
The light in the distance summons you

Intolerable
Kirsty Jun 2019
Affiliation, fixation, ultimate elation
A new day born time for celebration
That touch so gentle, a teardrop so sweet
Bang, bang silence sears like a knife as she falls to her feet

Summer breeze whistles through her hair
Evil and envy run through the man with an unsettling glare
The rogue red lips he'd longed to touch now stone ice blue
There was no other man she had ever loved it had only ever been you

The pieces of the puzzle has now been left broken
The spirit of the soul is now awoken
The devil had met his match in the depths of hell
God have mercy , I beg you, good luck we wish you well

Hole
Kirsty Mar 2019
The sickness that plagues your thoughts at night
Blinds your rational thinking
Battling between what is reality and fiction
It holds you captive in that black hole

Your chest compressed unable to move
Wide eyed you lay paralysed
You will the beast to leave at dawn
Only to return when the curtains are drawn

Beauty
Kirsty Mar 2019
Beauty is an infatuation
A hunger to feed
Starvation of emotion
An envious greed
Hatred and jealousy
You plant the seed
Your innocence is all but consumed
And you will never be freed

love yourself
Kirsty Mar 2019
Heart breaking how so many are influenced by the media
A fake portrayal of what's real that creates a certain hysteria
Too fat, too thin, too ugly, too dim,
Hating those natural freckles or the cute dimples on your chin

Too concerned with how our bodies are displayed,
Being aesthetically pleasing to others is far overplayed
Embraces the flaws that you find in yourself,
Above all accept the uniqueness that you see in someone else

Would you rather?
Kirsty Mar 2019
Sat alone with my hand on the gun
Reminiscing about our memories under the summer sun
The guilt and fear has control of me, can't you see
That death is the only one that can save me

Why didn't you just let me love you
Instead you looked beyond and straight through
I'm left there standing, anticipating
You shouldn't have kept me waiting

You've only got yourself to blame for what I have become
I used to be a husband, a father , a son
I deliberate the choices I've made and whether
The pain will fade or last forever

Everything I crave now I'm unable to grasp
But things are starting to make sense at last
As my head and heart constantly collide
Now it's time for you to decide

Would you rather be a mountain or a drop in the sea
Would you rather stay caged or run free
Be a pretty little flower or a sturdy tree
Would you rather take that bullet or leave it for me...?

Grief
Kirsty Dec 2019
The passing of time can heal most pain
nobody's grief appears the same
Admiring the still of everything that surrounds your being
Can clinch the hope you've longed for , endorsing your meaning

Feeling something
Kirsty Feb 2021
To truly understand unlimited wealth
You must learn to love the true reflection of yourself
Embellish life's ills
Run wild through the hills
Capture the moments that make you feel
Alive, free and something real.

As if by magic, mesmerised , frozen
Follow the path your conscience has chosen
Breathe in the air and reminisce under the stars
Enshroud the guilt and bury the scars
