One For All
Hank Love Dec 2021
I know when it's not worth the fight
We've had this talk a thousand times
Its time to read between between the lines
It's over girl it's over

It's nothing that anyone did
It's just something God forbid
And the emotions that kept themselves hid
Took over yeah they took over

I don't know why it's so hard
To say goodbye when we didn't even start
I know its not fair but it's too much to bear
When we break each other's hearts

Is it all for one
Or more one for all
And we've taken the fall
And we'll hit the ground sooner or later
Is it all for one
Are you the one for me
I guess in the end we'll see
When it comes to something that glitters
It's always one for all

I've read this over a thousand times
I thought by now I'd realize
There's nothing left to change our minds
It's over over

I never saw an end in sight
I never woke up crying in the night
I guess I'll try with all my might
To get through it through it

You're like a bad dream
And I make you wanna  scream
We're really no good for ourselves
We'll never be free when it's you and me
Holding the key to each others cells

Is it all for one
Or more one for all
And we've taken the fall
And we'll hit the ground sooner or later
Is it all for one
Are you the one for me
I guess in the end we'll see
When it comes to something that glitters
It's always one for all

If I Could
Hank Love Jul 2021
If I could
I would pick
A garden just for you
The grass would match your eyes
And the violets would be so blue

If I could
I would walk a mile for you
Hoping just maybe
That you would walk with me two

And if I could give you the world
I wouldn't stop
Until the oceans all ran dry
And I would give my life
Just so you wouldn't have to cry
If I could

If I could
I would give you my eyes
So you would see how much
You mean to me

And if I could
I would give you my heart
So maybe then you'd see
That our love was meant to be

And if I could
I would collect all the rain
So it wouldn't pour on your parade
I would extinguish the sun
So all there would be was shade

If it was up to me
All the stars would spell out your name
That's how my world would be
And it would never be the same

And if I could give you the world
I wouldn't stop
Until the oceans all ran dry
And I would give my life
Just so you wouldn't have to cry
If I could

A Pillar in the Sun
Hank Love Feb 2022
When I gazed upon the sunset there
Above the ashen, crystal air
It stood as a statue, great in size
A kindred giant in a dying light.
Never have I seen
And never again I fear.
A Pillar there what looked as gold
Which balanced the Heaven's
In its beaming hold.
And I thought for a moment
Should that pillar fall
The sky would crumble
And crush us all.
But a pillar in the sun, I should say
Shall keep us warm on a freezing day.
Hank Love Feb 2022
You ask if this is over
And I'm not sure what to say
I know we can't go much further
And I know we've had to pay

But who am I to tell you
What will be or won't
I can't see the future
And I'll tell you that I don't

But sometimes I can swear
That there's still something there
Trapped behind the words we say
I know the pains too much to bear
And it seems it gets no where
But I'll give you an answer
If we make it through today

Though all the fights and anger
Can't lift my spirits high
And through all the danger
We both still close our eyes

I'm not some kind of soldier
To come and save the day
And we both get only older
As our hair is turning gray

But sometimes I can swear
That there's still something there
Trapped behind the words we say
I know the pains too much to bear
And it seems it gets no where
I'll give you an answer
If we make it through today

Some times I'd like to go back
To when we still believed
That our love would make us stronger
And not drive us to our knees

But sometimes I can swear
That there's still something there
Trapped behind the words we say
I know the pains too much to bear
And it seems it gets no where
I'll give you an answer
If we make it through today

Of Tide and Sky
Hank Love Feb 2019
She rolls upon the sigh of Orion
Her voice Carries
thro brume and mist
These were days
when the tide was high
The waters pure
My Soul volcanic
As the scoriac valleys
Onwards strolled
While our destiny remained
Entwined with the stars
I said, "Gracefully she flies
Between the Goliath
Rivers of Spain
Our Salvation is Nigh
Encrusted through water
Our hope is restored."
And souls! The brave souls
Braced against the tide
Through the mid-December
(As we knew not
the month nor day)
Harbored there,
Beneath the air
Buried those poor souls
Between the shore and Bay
It was there
In the city by the shore
When it was spoken
But gave no token
In the days yond and fair
Many years and longer still
In the forsaken days of yore
That those men
Will not have died in vain
"Dust you were created
Through sand and sin
And shall you return
To dust again."

The Impeachment.
Hank Love Dec 2019
A time before, in another age, when our forefathers' sweat poured out to this country, and their hearts beat for this nation ensuring equality for all mankind.
Now, we are coming to the End of an Era, and dare I say the final era. Challenging that same nation, live up to the same hope and vision these great men saw before they, in dedication, and in retrospect, for the same hope for that nation, can themselves endure.
We highly resolve those men, and the crimes that have since been long committed on the Great Plains of this great nation as God stands in witness to the events which have taken place, that our forefathers words may not be taken with them to the grave. That this nation stands firm under God in the highest and shall have a new outlook on Freedom, and that her people will have new dreams, and hold true to those before, and the peoples Government, shall long endure.

A Friend to the Flies
Hank Love Nov 2023
.If I live to be one hundred
(But God forbid I do)
May I never forget to keep my friends many
And my enemies very few.

May I always remember
To only look above
And the only time I look down on another soul
Is to help them stand with love.

For every soul no matter how small
Is to be shown the greatest amount of care
From the strays that crawl upon the ground
To my winged friends in the air

So, While the world holds their own decision
And while they have their right to critize
I will always be one to mention
That I am a friend to the flies.

Oh, Darling Constanze Reeder
As it pains me to say
That the world has been ever changing
From last our childhood days
No more running through fields and
Resting Yond the Willow tree
And to sleep in silence
In those moments carefree

Oh Darling Constanze Reeder
Your words remain inside
And if only I were able
No more days spent to hide

Oh Darling Constanze Reeder
Should a thousand nights pass
Should I not see your face
As I have in the past
Or should fate be much kinder
And a friend to my despair
Then a thousand days should I look o'er my shoulder
And find you there

Oh  Darling Constanze Reeder
Your words remain inside
And if only I was able
No more days left to hide

Oh Darling Constanze Reeder
If you look towards the shore
You would see German colors
As I wave to you once more
For I go to some land
As you wait my return
But should I not sail to my Constanze Reeder
Would you leave a candle to burn

Oh Darling Constanze Reeder
Your words remain inside
And if only I was able
No more days left to hide
And the memory of your smile
Has remained in my heart
And from the memory
Of my Darling Constanze Reeder
Should I never part

Imagine (My Version)
Hank Love Aug 2021
Imagine there's no virus
It's easy it you try
There's no one wearing face masks
And no one ever dies

Imagine all the people
Living free without a care
Ah

Imagine there's no violence
Is it something you could see
In the streets there are no riots
But love for humanity

Imagine all the people
Who live and let live
Yeah

You may say I'm crazy
And it may be true
But if I can see a world beyond this
Then maybe one day so will you

Imagine there's no possessions
It's easier than it sounds
No one's killing just to have it
And the world keeps spinning round

Imagine all the people
Who finally learn to share
Ah

You may say I'm crazy
And it may be true
But if I can see a world beyond this
Then maybe one day so will you

A Letter Through Time
Hank Love Oct 2020
My dear brother, I should hope
This letter finds you well,
And has not aggravated
Our relationship further.

The dreadful winter
Is here again at last,
And the year is 2020.

Of course I realize
That you have been
Long since dead,

Tho I write this letter
In my own form
To communicate with you.

How I miss things in our own time.
The smell of barley,
Leaves me ill with longing for home.

I should have taken my place
Between you and our parents
Long ago.

Transportation is different
In this age and time.
There are no carriages in sight.

I'm concerned, brother
Of things in this world.
I live in a world full of masquerades.

Letters are a thing of the past,
And the accursed "internet"
Has overruled our old-fashioned ways.
(How I loathe Thomas Edison!)

In short, brother, I am ill.
Not of life,
But without any will to live longer.

We've since reached
Another century,
And yet have had anything to improve.

How many centuries
Must I suffer longer?
How must I part ways with life?

Godspeed, brother.
Until we should meet again.

To All I Love
Hank Love Apr 2019
Thou hast occupied my soul, love
Where my thoughts did pine
Thou was all to me, love
And all I loved, was mine.
Thy beauty is to me
A delicate garden
And a shrine.
The blooms which did bloom
In the early days of June
Thro childhood hour
Had my days and all nights
Have been trances
As life so hums its somber tune
Love be the forbidden dance

Bobby loved Susan
But Susan hated Bobby
She hated that he loved her
Like it was some kind of hobby

Bobby bit a bullet
And his love for her  died with him
They were learning how to hate
And they were loving every minute

Perry went to prison
He got in a nasty habit
He was ripping off liquor stores
And the state wouldn't have it

Whitney said she'd wait for Perry
But Whitney was a cheater
She fell in love with Barry
Who always loved to beat her
They were both in love with pain
But they were hating every minute

Aaron was afraid
Cause Tina had a temper
He hated being alone with Tina
She broke his arm in November

Tinas at the center now
A neighbor called the cops
He looked at another woman
She punched him in the chops
Tina was is first love
And he hated being in it
He was afraid of being in love
And more afraid of being beaten

Some die in traffic
Others die by needles
And others die by suicide
Over something completely needless

Some will bite a bullet
Some may get the chair
Some might be afraid of dying
Some don't even care

In Life and Requiem
Hank Love Feb 2019
Take this life
I selflessly bestow
Upon the joy upon the sorrow
For dreams I have none to borrow
And time I have not to spare!
You are just, those who deem
And those that see or those that seem
That life is more than breath
And realms are more than dreams

Dreaming is the fashion
And they hold their own passion
And hope after all is the thing
But if hope has gone before
And journeyed long
In a timely matter passing
And the good days
Have surpassed me
In the forsaken days of Yore
Has life in its favor
Been a mere misadventure?
Then life my friends is the theme
And my thoughts are the thread
Which grasps the seams of
My own dreams.

A Letter
Hank Love Apr 2021
Hey dad how's the place out there
Did you ever get the time
To fix mama's favorite chair?

Works been slow
So I don't know
If I'll ever afford the health care

Other than that
Its been going alright
The pain still hurts
And keeps me up sometimes at night

I had a little time
So I wanted to write this letter
To your heart from mine

I remember when
I was your little boy
And you were my best friend
Nothings really changed
I'm laughing now about how
I used to call you old
And you laughed and said I'd probably go
Before you ever do
How right you were i didn't have a clue

Hey dad the doctor just came in
He said its about the same
So I guess that's a win

They wanna see me back
Again next week
I'm just so tired of feeling so weak

Other than that
I guess I've been fine
I just feel bad to see my wife crying
All the time

I remember when
I was your little boy
And you were my best friend
Nothings really changed
I'm laughing now about how
I used to call you old
And you laughed and said I'd probably go
Before you ever do
How right you were i didn't have a clue

The Hunt for a Thief
Hank Love Dec 2019
"Such a place for a thief!"
The patrolman cried.
"Just the place for a crook!"
The Thief replied;
"What a schnook!
So easily you were duped!
Indeed you are stuped!
Considering the time that you took!"

"Just  the place for a thief!
I've now said it twice.
Indeed you are sly!
Considering each day
That I passed you by!
Why I did not notice you more than I would have a fly!"
"You are no match! But I've made a mistake!
For I would be free
If that gate would unlatch!"
"Such a place for a crook!"
A deep breath he took.
"For one would be wise
If he knew where to look!
"I will be blunt, this is all in good fun!
For when the cat is away the mice will run!"
"Fun! Began the hunt
When you pulled such a stunt!"
"Yes, yes. I saw and I sprung. I started to run!
But perish the thought
For soon I to will be hung!"

The King's Royal Fool
Hank Love May 2019
Once upon a time
In another song and rhyme
Lived the King's royal fool
Who couldn't seem to step in line

He was witty he was charming
Though he was mistook
Because while he tried to bring a smile
Others misplaced him for a schnook

He would sing his silly songs
He would play a little toot
And while others called him a brute
Their point was fairly moot

And they tossed him on the rocks
And they threw him to the dogs
He always made his way back
To do what he was taught

"Fool," said the King
As he gave a coin a fling
"Have you learned not a thing?
I pay you to sing!

Let this be a lesson
As you lie awake in bed
If I dont get my wishes
Its off with your head!"

To top it off
The King gave a scoff
He was always short tempered
Because he couldn't play Golf
But the fool had brushed it off

But he knew how to live
And he knew how to love
He was never looking down
Because his spirits were always above

He always tipped his hat
To the ladies and the Gents
"Bless you Gov," he said as he bowed
"Be sure to give the wife a kiss!"

I would be remiss
If I did not insist
That while I enjoyed his company
And though I loved his songs
He did one thing
I thought was very wrong
When he put his hand on a place
That didn't possibly belong

"Apologies Miss I wasn't
Trying to seem fresh!
Take it from me tales me mother
Always taught me best!"

But she sighed and she frowned
As she went about her way
"Give it a rest you blundering pest
I have no time to stop and play!"

So the moral of me rhyme
To the right person place and time
If you can't enjoy life
You better step in line

Because you can't love another
If you don't love yourself
Might as well keep your worries
Tucked away upon a shelf!

It's not that bad
Though it may seem cruel
If you can't see the beauty
Then you my friend are the fool!

To those Battling Bipolar, depression or anxiety, much as myself.

Doubtless you should
So easily forget!
We are that
What you cannot see!
How long shall life suffer you
Until you realize this!
We are the soft incantations
That which you place inside
The inner core of your mind!
Controlling your every thought
While you so soundly sleep!
We will change you.
You will not walk outside
For even during the daylight
We hold our shadow!
In you, we confide
Your every fear,
Towards that which you love most.
We are here, you see,
Tho we cannot so easily
Be summoned.
You have known us
Yet are afraid to call by name.
We, the soft voices
Daunting your every way of life.
The sole purpose
You may sleep in a well lit room.
We are your enemy
And when others have turned away,
We are the only friend you have.
We, are you.

They came and stepped on
Our sacred land
Took our way of life
Before they took our hand

And the huts and houses
That we built
They burned them down
And had our people killed

And to this day
We still don't understand
The wicked ways
Of the crooked man

They do not listen
They do not see
They ask no questions
To you or to me

But maybe one day
They will learn
That not all bridges
Must be burned

And all you white men
I've got to say
We were here first
When your ships drifted away

And still we will
Make our final stand
When you return
To your own native land

A Wanderer's Name
Hank Love Mar 2020
Hes put on so many faces
He looks in the mirror and
Doesn't recognize his own
Hes been to so many places
He doesn't feel welcome in his home

His footsteps tell a story
Of the life he Left behind
And the world ahead
Seems a mystery
Waiting for the adventure to find

Hes a drifter
Running from his past
But hes got no where to go
He's had a bad name but
You'll never find a better soul to know

He's said Goodbye
To the friends that liked him still
He's going from town to town
But doesn't even know if it's real

He said farewell
To the only thing he's known
A life of misery
Without a bed to call his own

Hes a drifter
Running from his past
But hes got no where to go
He's had a bad name but
You'll never find a better soul to know

Hes my brother
Hes my friend
Though I don't even know his name
And if you see him passing by
You'll be happy that he came

Hes a drifter
Running from his past
But hes got no where to go
He's had a bad name but
You'll never find a better soul to know

We watch movies,
To create the illusion that the actors
Are still alive.
We listen to music,

About our ears,
We write poetry, so that
Every last word that poets of the past
Never got to write, is said
And remembered.

Hear the cravened Raven
The story he so proudly tells!
Through the constant chime
And ringing of the Bells!

Onwards to the house of Usher
Through the Catacombs
And the lowly depths of Hell
What a mood of merriment
This tale portells!

Below the creaking floorboards
He so loudly yells
As we pry the planks one by one
"This, a story
No mortal ever tells!"

The Heavens claim Helen
And the enchanting Annabelle
Alone In the city by the Sea
He so miserably dwells!

Here it comes
I've had this feeling before
I told myself never again
But here I am back for more

And I know that it's true girl
That you will end up like the rest
But I can still pretend girl
And still treat you like the best

No I never listen to myself
I never know when enough is enough
Now you've got me under your spell
Hypnotized by your love

So hit me with your love until it hurts
Blind my eyes with your pretty little lies
And make me believe it's what I deserve
And when you've finally had enough
Be sure and shut the door
So hit me with your love
Until I'm begging for more

I should listen,
Maybe I should go
My thoughts say yes
But my heart says no

It's what I'm after
But it's a losing game
There's love and laughter
But it always ends the same

And now I'm running from myself
While I'm running for your love
Put my worries on a shelf
And I don't know a thing about love

So hit me with your love until it hurts
Blind my eyes with your pretty little lies
And make me believe it's what I deserve
And when you've finally had enough
Be sure and shut the door
So hit me with your love

Their faces are blurred images
Slowly escaping from my mind.
And try as I may to reconstruct
The memory of those I've loved before
I'm aided by a cruel reminder of regret.
Perhaps those we encounter in our lives,
Some times they are our friends first,
Later on becoming strangers.
And at times perhaps time itself
Moves in reverse, only forcing us to see
Our own faults and the reason for them.
However, if time would only move forward
Perhaps yesterday we could have learned
What tomorrow's mistake will be.
What if we could keep the memory
Of those we've lost alive
By simply telling them good bye?

Is This Love
Hank Love Aug 2022
With A thousand thoughts
She lies awake in bed
While I'm asleep having nightmares again
Is this love, oh is this love?

In distance we're only
Two inches apart
A thousand miles away
In both of our hearts
Is this love, oh is this love?

Is it the house that's a mess
Or something more
Is there something in the way
Between her and the door

Is this what they call love?
Is this what I've always been told?
Not everything is what it seems
And not all that glitters is gold
Is this what they call love?
Or has someone burned the page
No happy ending from what I can see
No more butterflies only rage
Is this love

Tell me Is this love?

I wonder what she would think
If I told her that I was on the brink
Of walking away
But I couldn't go back the way I came
Is this love, oh is this love

I wonder what she would say
If I told her that I feel the same way
But id tell her that I'm tired of pacing the floor
The flames still burning but it don't hurt anymore
Is this love, oh is this love

Is it the past
That's creeping up again?
I'm knocking at her door
But she won't let me in

Is this what they call love?
Is this what I've always been told?
Not everything is what it seems
And not all that glitters is gold
Is this what they call love?
Or has someone burned the page
No happy ending from what I can see
No more butterflies only rage

The Artists Name
Hank Love Jul 2023
The crowd gathered in the room
And the man pulled back the cloth
Behind it was an old painting
And silence filled them all

Not everyone understood the meaning
From the message in the paint
Some said its a man who took a beating
Some said the man would faint

But somewhere in the back
An older woman stood
She made her way to the front
Holding back her tears the best she could

And she said
"I know this man in the picture
And I know message in the frame
This man took the beating
For what I have myself to blame
Some of you can't see it"
As she pointed at the cross
"Behind the man who paid the cost
The artist left His name"

Then she picked up the painting
As her tears fell on the frame
"What kind of man would take my place
And still care to know my name?"

And she said
"I know this man in the picture
And I know message in the frame
This man took the beating
For what I have myself to blame
Some of you can't see it"
As she pointed at the cross
"Behind the man who paid the cost
The artist left His name"

Alone, afoot
With the world at my feet
And my thoughts behind me.
I part ways with life, and a dream
Beyond my reach
And take to the open road.
The winding gravel,
Twists my own imagination,
And leads to where ever I wish to roam.

For fortune, I have no desire
I alone am desire.
All a wanderer needs
Is the road,
And the stars to shield him at night.
To where ever fate holds favor
Is beyond me.
I welcome with a complex mind
The events which are yet to come.

My mind, peaked with curiosity
Overlaps and shrouds my own doubts.
For I alone, the father of my own creation
And the master of my own defeat.
And the kind stranger who says Hello
Is a parting friend who says Goodbye.

"If A Man's Home is His Castle" this is another musical number I wrote for "Mister Gates and the Return From Nowhere"

If a man's home is his castle
Then I am a king who's been dethroned
A man has his dreams in this world to dazzle
To carve his name into the stone

My life has always been merry
Well ordered, yes some might say
But I've reached the age where
Life has stopped giving
And instead has taken away

If a man's maids are his servants
To obey his each and every command
Then they all have turned into serpants
And I haven't a leg to stand

What other life do I know
But a life of morals and merit
What more may I teach to mold the breed
So one day they might inherit?

If a man's own wife is his queen
To rule each day by his side
Then why must the queen in her way intervene
And mistake my judgement for pride?

A man has dreams, goals, ambitions
To etch his name into time
To leave his mark into life's own arch
But the man is stripped from his prime

If a man's home is his castle
Then I am a king who's been dethroned
I've never once asked for this hassle
And it feels as though I must suffer alone

On the other side of the moon
Stars appear like they do in June
And I know I'll be there soon
On the other side of the moon

On the other side of the moon
Pretty flowers are all in bloom
And if I could fly why then I
Would have two footprints on the moon

It's up above the clouds
It's far beyond the sun
I'll feel so high and I won't come down
Until I've had my fun

We'll meet up in space
They tell me it's a wonderful place
And we'll be so happy
That a smile never leaves our face

On the other side of the moon
Stars appear like they do in June
And I know I'll be there soon
On the other side of the moon

On the other side of the moon
Pretty flowers are all in bloom
And if I could fly why then I
Would have two footprints on the moon

On the other side of the moon
I know I'll be there soon

Sail on Through
Hank Love May 2021
Christopher sails his ship
Across the water
Never looking back
And never waving goodbye

He said its not the same
America that he remembers
Floating away from shore
He leaves everything behind

Sail on through
And wave your flag high
As the eye can see
Sail on through
And never drop your anchor
But the only thing you forgot on shore
Was me

Christopher sailed his ship
For the third time today
Checking his map
But everything looks the same

There are no stars
Tonight to help guide his way
His compass isn't working
But his heart is the only thing that breaks

Sail on through
And wave your flag high
As the eye can see
Sail on through
And never drop your anchor
But the only thing
You forgot on shore was me

Dream a Dream of You
Hank Love Apr 2020
Allow me to dream a dream of you
For it is the only place
Where love is true.
And one day soon perhaps I'll find
A way to dream your dreams
And make them mine.

Allow me to dream a dream of you
A voice soft tho sweet
And eyes so blue.
And one day soon, perhaps we'll see
That love exists
In more than dreams.

Allow me to dream a dream of you
Of a touch so pure
And a heart so new.
And one day soon, perhaps we'll feel
Those emotions sweet
Are soon revealed.

Walking down the street
To the song in my head
And both my feet are sore

Trying to drown the noise
And everything she said
Pretending I don't love her anymore

But now the song has a different tune
And I don't like how it sounds
You know it tears me all apart

It was another type of blues
And I just can't get it out
Like a knife running into my heart

No I can't get her out of my head
I just can't get her out of my head

Never thought I'd see the day
That she would walk away
And leave me all alone

But she told me she was done
Now it's back to square one
And I can't reach her on her telephone

No I can't get her out of my head
I just can't get her out of my head

Once again I find myself
Reaching for the shelf
Trying to drink away her memory

And it probably doesn't help
But it gets her off my brain
Long enough for me to sleep

No I can't get her out of my head
I just can't get her out of my head

No I can't get her out of my head
I just can't get her out of my head
Man I can't I just can't
I just can't get her out of my head

Daniel
Hank Love Jan 2020
He could almost see his mansion
While his home was on the road
Pulling at their pockets
He could almost feel
The rich mans gold
Most men called him crazy
As they threw him out of town
Now hes gone from rags to riches
Wearing his scars like a crown

His name is Daniel
And hes ahead of his time
At the front of the pack
Walking down the road
With a song in his heart
And empty hands
On his way to the promised land
Daniel hes not turning back

He was caught
With another mans wife
Wondering how he got there
Fearing for his life
Hes served from a silver platter
I would think he has it well
But where they got that head
I cannot begin to tell

His name is Daniel
And hes ahead of his time
At the front of the pack
Walking down the road
With a song in his heart
And empty hands
On his way to the promised land
Daniel hes not turning back

My Deceased
Hank Love Apr 2019
One tragic afternoon
As I recall
Traveling home
My body weary
And soul stricken with grief
I opened the door
As my eyes they did deceive me
I froze- and stared in disbelief.

In a series of bewilderment, yes,
My blood ran cold
And my body trembled with fear.
There she stood
With her piercing eyes
Much as a smile
That seemed only the dead could hear.

And with every reason  I tried to find
I found none,
And with every question I held in my brain,
One by one they shortly fell,
For why she was here only she could tell.
My heart felt ready to burst,
As my very thought was
She would drag my very soul, to Hell.

There she was
A look of all evil,
Her black clothes
Flowed with the every
Spoken thought of sin.
How poorly did she hide behind this mask
As I truly saw such evil within,
As she stepped closer
Her eyes caught mine
And met me at the door
With a grin.

The Silence
Hank Love Jul 2021
Can you hear it
Does it drive you mad?
Do you see it
Does it make you sad?
When the world is burning
And everything is left unbalanced
Can anyone break the silence

Did you see it on the news today
They say all hope has gone away
One thousand people in their sheets
**** our people in the streets
And it seems in the world
The only thing left is violence
Can anyone break the silence

Last night I saw choppers fill the skies
They don't care they don't know why
People lock their doors
And throw away the key
They close their eyes so they won't see
And it sounds so absurd
That we **** each other over diamonds
Can anyone break the silence?

It isn't a bird
No it isn't a plane
It's a man falling
Out of the sky

Now haven't you heard
That man was in pain
Now he's calling for help
While he's wondering why

Yeah the man
Who could fly
Fell out of the sky today
We don't understand
And we all want to cry
Who's gonna save the man
Who always saved the day?

It seems he had some broken wings
We've all been there before
He can't soar through the air
And listen to birds as they sing

And no amount of kryptonite
Will get this man to his feet
Only love will save this man
From the hatred on the streets

Yeah the man
Who could fly
Fell out of the sky today
We don't understand
And we all want to cry
Who's gonna save the man
Who always saved the day?

My Dear
I beseech thine own gratitude.
Parting, be it spoken
Or be it a favorable token
Or adieu by the by
Who were thou once
In a matter of deliberate thinking
But the rose that wilts
While the Gardener tends to his own roses.
Be there no just cause
By way of reckoning with
My poorly based manner
I ask your hand
Love be it a thing of adversity
Or diverse confusion
To he who holds no compassion
Hatred still holds not passion
And while I cannot bring myself to love,
Love premieres itself to me.
How Heavens Gaze
Upon star crossed Lovers
And the tide holds true
To a Voyager on a perfumed Sea
Onwards his own own native shore
Love is blind to ties that bind
For you my dear I your lighthouse far
And you my anchor bold
That I ask your hand to hold

This is for you Robin

I'm a genie in a magic lamp
I'm a bird thats in a cage
I'm a man who's really Peter pan
And im a kid trapped in a game

I'm someone who wears a smile
Even though there's so much pain
And I may not be here tomorrow
So can I make you laugh today?

I'm a man of many faces
And sometimes I forget my own
I'm a man that can find a voice
That you will always know
But one thing that I cannot find
Is any peace to be near
But the thing that gives me the greatest joy
Is your laughter through the years

I'm a man with a broadcast
Telling you good morning every day
I'm a man who can "patch" you up
When your blue skies are turning gray

And still I wonder what dreams may come
But I believe I've lived all of mine
But I dont worry if there ever were some
That I left so far behind

I'm a man of many faces
And sometimes I forget my own
I'm a man that can find a voice
That you will always know
But one thing that I cannot find
Is any peace to be near
But the thing that gives me the greatest joy
Is your laughter through the years

Fix Me
Hank Love Mar 2020
I've been hurt
We all have before
They've pulled the rug
But I come back for more

I guess it's just my way
It's just who I am
You try to **** me
I don't give a ****

I'm a broken lamp
A shattered glass
Will you fix me, will you fix me
I'm a broken heart
A ***** soul
Will you fix me, will you fix me please

They've kicked me
When I'm down
I'm a lost boy
Waiting to be found

I don't pretend
That I don't deserve it
I don't wanna feel nothing
So I'd rather be hurt

I guess it's just my way
It's just who I am
You try to **** me
I don't give a ****

I'm a broken lamp
A shattered glass
Will you fix me, will you fix me
I'm a broken heart
A ***** soul
Will you fix me, will you fix me please

I've been hurt
We all have before
They've pulled the plug
Will you fix me please

I'd rather hold my heart
But I wear it on my sleeve
Will you fix me
Will you fix me please
