Under the mask
Tanisha Feb 2019
Lies,
It was venom,
They spewed darkness.
They bit and tore,
Till his flesh was raw,
And broken.
They wore masks,
Of smiles and trust.
Yet under,
Was blatant deceit.
Humans,
What a terrible race.

A Stolen kiss
Tanisha Feb 2019
A stygian room,
Music resonated from the television,
Traces of light played on her face,
Her fingers fumbling at the sheet,
Completely overwrought.

All at once,
He leaned in, yearning, his mind resolute.
And then for a moment,
Lights permeated the room,
And suddenly all was irrevocable.
