Get in line
Laurent Mar 2019
Youth feels like you can touch the flames of the sun.
Or capture waves of water with your barehands.
To collect air and name them from which location they are from.
Without fear or doubt on what tomorrow will bring, or what's to come.

Time comes and betrays Youth and introduces the stages of life;
infant, student, lover, achiever, money seeker, and old age facing imminent death.

Confused and discontented, you ask Time if you can bring back your Youthful spirit.
But you know you have used it all up, as at an old age you are almost running out of breath.

Acceptance and confirmation are the next actions you can take. The only options.

You hold yourself together until Time comes
to claim what you owe, payment of your life to its debt.

Ms. Gray
Laurent Feb 2019
The night so beautiful, moon is out with pride.
The stars blinking under the dark blanket going for a ride.
The ocean reflects the moon, such a scene that cause drama.
The waves wooshing about on their own without bother.
The wind whistles covering the silence in an instant.
A dark blot appears afar in the ocean from a distance.
A faint cry for help is heard and stays.
You move closer, you investigate, you immediately jump in the water in dismay.
As you go closer, a few feet away from the dark blot, your heart stops, dead in your tracks, submerged chest deep in water.
The moonlight suddenly reveals, wet shiny hair,  flesh of gray, eyeballs on a rotten corpse staring right at you simpering on the matter.

The Union
Laurent Feb 2019
If only you knew the way I looked at you.
Even if I was gazing pass you I can see you on my side peripheral vision, clearer than anything else.
You beside me makes me lose focus and not be myself.
I see your eyes are on me and if only you knew how my heart skips a beat when you're staring.
I know you know you're intentionally looking at me but I try to compose myself but deep down I'm panicking.
I can't focus even with new sceneries on the road because I have something much more beautiful beside me that I rarely gaze upon, that's you.
The way you slowly lean towards me and grab my hand, put your head on my right shoulder makes me want to melt too.
When I kissed you again that time and you said "I miss you" gave a spurt of happiness.
I missed the tenderness of your lips on mine at that moment.
It had me dazed, it had me lost in that time fragment.
That memory with you by the beautiful beach side was perfect.
It was short, sweet but enough to last and be imprinted in my mind.
I was able to hold you again in my arms.
A lost sensation that I was again able to find.
It's hard to sit there and be close and not kiss you.
It's hard to kiss you and not experience breathing deeply.
It's hard to kiss you and slow down my rapid beating heart.
It's hard to kiss you and stop my skin tingle with electricity, to feel love drunk and love dizzy.
It's hard to kiss you knowing that was the last kiss.
A promise shattered, a lie that says we'll never be apart.

Under the moon.
Laurent Feb 2019
I watched you sleeping, you looked so beautiful.
The moon lit through the room providing some light to your beauty that's unjustifiable.
You had shoulder length hair.
You were lying down so fine, so fair.
Your eyes are shut showing your long eyelashes.
I am completely defeated, melted, reduced to slushes.
Your lips are not tightly shut rather showing your front teeth.
I listen in silence to your faint heart
beat.
You caught me staring and you break a smile.
You're here with me makes my time worthwhile.
You form a hug and wrap your arms around my neck.
You pull my face to yours and give me a sweet peck.
