Having a good poker face,
To hide behind a smile,
Bottling up your emotions
Your inside self feels vile,

Laughing with your outer voice,
When the inside ones deciding,
Whether this should be your life,
With a sun that's never shining.

When the loneliness sets in,
With a life that seems in tatters,
Soldiering on is always fine,
But on the inside you feel battered,

To hide behind a smile,
In the end is straight up lying,
On the outside all is fine,
When your inner soul is dying,

They say tomorrow is a new day,
But always seems the morrow after,
The day that I am myself again,
Without fake smiles and laughter.
