It's about time
They say time is so everything
Doesn't all happen at once
A fool doesn't know what he wants
Until it's too late

Always last to leave the party
Cuz you never learned to say goodbye
In the cold you can see your breath
Gently disappear into the night

Near and far
Nobody marries young anymore
A heart doesn't know what it's for
Like a planet that's lost its Sun
Goes drifting and alone

Is there another Earth
Another universe
Another version of me

One who gets it right
Who holds to her tight
One whose world is happy

There in another life
Another timeline
Where I wasn't born to lose

One where hearts are strong
Love knows right from wrong
One where I'm not a fool

Always last to leave the party
Cuz you never learned to say goodbye
In the cold you can see your breath
One more, one less
Gently disappear into the night

There was a vacancy in my heart
The former occupant had long gone
You swept away the dust of years and made it over in soft pastels
Though your stay was brief, your essence lingers
Like the scent of roses left on the windowsill
Yet clinging to life in the fading glow of summer

I witnessed a ******
I swear my heart nearly froze
No it’s not what you think
It was a ****** of crows

Glaring down from high
On their whispering wire
Witnessing me
Mucking in the mire

If love is true
Then tell me whose are these
Down in your basket
With your bra and *******

Soft as a kiss
Lands the fatal blow
Or like a hard swung bat
Up from murderer’s row

It was the longest day of the year
And yet it was the shortest
It was the coldest day of the year
Yet somehow still the warmest
It was the wettest, the driest
The lowest, the highest
And nothing could match it for cheer
We wish you a Happy New Year!

The world is too full
All the good jobs are taken
Something's not right
When Sir Francis Bacon
Is serving up drinks at the bar

You're merely a dreamer
Lest (by some lucky turn of the lottery wheel) your dream comes true
Now you're a genius/hero
Who knew!
