If it wasn’t for you, I would let the sun set
If it wasn’t for you, I would let the moon rise
If it wasn’t for you, I would let the day vanish and I would let the night fall
Because if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be like this at all

I told the sun, “If you stay up until my love returns, I will give you my arms.”
And away it did, it stood up bright and yellow
Because it knew, I was waiting for a good fellow
I waited and I waited, but still no sign,
Please come home, I’m running out of time

If the sun can’t set, how can the moon rise
So I told the moon, “If you can only rise when my love returns, I will give you my legs.”
And away it did, it sat dark and it hid,
Because it knew, only my love for you, God can forbid
I waited and I waited, don’t you miss me?
Please come home, if I have too, I’ll wait an eternity

If the moon can’t rise, how can the ocean tide
So I told the ocean, “I have not much left to offer, but if you wait until my love returns, I will give you everything, just not my heart.”
And away it did, it stood still and blue,
Because it knew, I was still waiting for you
I waited and I waited, you’re still not here yet,
Please come home, the love that we shared, I’ll never forget

And on that day,
The sun disappeared and the moon shone bright and the tides waved fury,
I knew that you were home,
As I sat on this chair, white haired and old,
I saw the silhouette, not of an old man, but of the one I loved,
Young, bold, and forgetful
And because of you, I have given the sun my arms
And because of you, I have given the moon my legs
And because of you, I have given the ocean everything except my heart
And as you walk across the dead grass, and onto the porch,
You’ll see sitting in this chair, my heart still beating for you.

I am looking for the most beautiful person,
Where can I find him? Can you tell me?
Is he hiding in the red limbs of a rose,
Or perhaps in a garden of tulips, I suppose,
Is he in the ocean? Amongst the red, blue, and, green coral reefs
Or is he dancing on the shimmering cherry blossom leaves

I am looking for the most bold person,
Where can I find him? Where must he be?
He must be in a ring, fighting lions and tigers,
No, he must be in hell treading casually in Hade’s fires,
Or is he in front of a crowd speaking words others may disagree,
Maybe he is fighting for the slaves, setting them free

I am looking for the most intelligent person?
Can you tell me what he is doing?
Is he saving the world, Ridding cancer and all diseases permanently?
A mind full of ideas even Einstein can’t conceive,
He is in the skies teaching gods how to read,
A suitable opponent in a game of chess is what he needs,

I am looking for a person,
I might know where he be,
Ahh…...I found you,
Looking in the mirror.
