The Wondering Soul

The Wondering Soul

The wondering soul knows no home, no land that ties to the strings of his heart until the end of time.

Like a ship in the night he passes by our shores exploring this wondrous earth and losing his breath in utter appreciation at the beauty of this world. And when he departs, it’s with just enough time to graze your heart and touch your soul but never enough for you to explore and know the inner wisdom and rawness that lie deep within those hidden waters.

Oh the wondering soul like a butterfly, catch it and drink it in, as it flirts past your sight for no one knows what he has seen before he transformed into this phenomenal sight.
He pulls you into his dance and in a split second he’s gone and as your heart laments for that wondering soul he has already passed through the looking glass to hypnotize another in his trance.

Oh the wondering soul how I wish I knew you.. how I wish I could see you like you see me and take you with me on this journey. Halas, I look hard for you and in the end all I see is my own reflection gazing back and I realize instead, it’s time I take my own soul on this adventuresome path for a wonder along with me.

The Darkness Grows
Helena Jun 2018
The silence comes, the silence goes
The darkness stays and she enfolds
Gone are the loud voices that speak
Here now is the unknown, the unanswered, the unweak

She feels the depth, the search, the soul
Though she longs to growl and run and roar
She feels abandoned by who, by she
Yet continues to sit in a silent seek

The darkness continues to grow and grow
& she’s lost in a tumble that goes and goes
and out of nowhere the float commences
she’***** with a stillness, she’s thoughtful & pensive

This is the crack where the light breaks through
And it touches her heart, her lungs, her soul
It lifts her to a place on high oer high
there’s no describing she’s beyond the skies

And so she awakens, she arises, she transforms
As it’s always darkest before the dawn..

A letter to Rona

It was the best of times, it was indeed the worst of times.
Rona, You take our breath away ……  and livelihood too and here we were thinking, you were just the flu. You are here, you are there, you are everywhere, yet seriously, Rona why don’t you just disappear..

You lurk in crevices and all sorts of spaces and even in my favourite places. You’re well travelled, exploring the world, effecting every creed, religion, with no stone unturned.

You’ve taken loved ones, friends and strangers too, you’re not biased, we’ve been told by the WHO. You’ve exhausted our systems and national health, they are overstretched, what a blow we’ve been dealth.

Some are out of jobs and kids are home schooling …could this be any more gruelling?
Everyone is paranoid when they feel their throat a tingling and still it's hard for some to maintain 'social distancing'.

Now Rona, you’re a foe who's time is coming to an end, although you're teaching us lessons, while we pray for the curve to bend. We’re at home, some with families and animals too, and we can listen to the birds tweet twooo..

And remember this we are the human race, we will turn this around, your effect we’ll erase.
We’re coming together in all different ways, helping the ill, the poor and the frail.

Our singing resonates through streets old and new, we are all in this together, we will definitely pull through.

We are clapping for our champions, who are working all hours. Please God, help them with your super powers.

We are entertaining ourselves, at home and on the net, our spirit is relentless, we will succeed with the right mindset.

Just remember, our scientists are busy figuring you out, so we can one day again, get out and about. And our healers are channeling God’s powerful energy, so this will one day be but a distant memory.

While we pray, I thought I’d write this poem, so please let’s all remember to #STAYHOME

The Fog
Helena Nov 2017
The Fog forms shadows over everything
The fog it leaves a stain too tough to be cleaned
Don’t leave it too long or it will leave it’s impact
Things won’t be clear and you won’t know the facts
It’s hard to tell what’s right or wrong
Even harder to remember the words of a song
People are like boats that pass in the night
Some are familiar and some well out of mind out of sight

Who am I and where have I gone?
Where am I and what have I done?
Am surrounded by people, they seam to be nice
But it all changes at the roll of a dice
Am gonna, close my eyes and rest my weary heard
In this safe place, they all call a bed
And if I wake and it’s still a little grey
I will share all my fears with God and pray

— The End —
