Color
Josh Oct 2017
What color would I lose?
I’d lose all colors
Why?
I would make no distinction between things
Everything would be the same color
I wouldn’t see just a bright color
In the midst of darkness
Everything would be one color
Apples and oranges, would have something similar
Pigment of your skin, would be equal
Everything, would be equal
Balance would be in control, control of my life
My life would be in balance

Unbalanced my life is
Too many things to juggle
Feels like I’m a bear on a unicycle
Because I’m about to fall off
And when I fall off I won’t be useful anymore
They’ll kick me out, throw me out
Say I’m not good anymore
I know I’m good
Just because I’m darker than the rest
Doesn’t mean I can’t ride that unicycle like the rest
Why does color have to play a role in everything?
If a fruit isn’t the right color it’s wrong
If a flag isn’t the right color it’s wrong
If people aren’t the right color, that’s wrong
Why can’t we see everyone as one color, everything as one color

What color would I lose?
I’d lose all colors
Why?
I would make no distinction between things
Everything would be the same color
I wouldn’t see just a bright color
In the midst of darkness
Everything would be one color
Apples and oranges, would have something similar
Pigment of your skin, would be equal
Everything, would be equal
Balance would be in control, control of my life
My life would be in balance

Excuse
Josh Oct 2017
How many people die
Everyday to a piece of plastic
How many people die
Everyday to a piece
If only we had peace
I wish one day we’d all love each other
Why does one organization just want to give an excuse for everything
I wish they were not right after all

NRA
What’s the excuse for Vegas
We saw the excuse for the Sandy
We saw it for Columbine
We saw it for Virginia
One day they’ll be not right after all
Until then,
We have trouble
Trouble on the street
Protecting our 2nd amendment
What about our right to be alive
Our right to breathe
Our right to not be shot or killed
Where is that amendment
What about those 58 people
Why did this have to happen
Where were their amendments on living

NRA
What’s your excuse
For the deaths of those 58 people
How will you excuse guns for this
There is no excuse for this
People are dying
It’s not an opinion
It’s a fact that these guns are making violence a larger thing than it was without guns
A quicker way to ****
All you need to do is pull the trigger
To take away a life, to ruin a life
This man took away 58 lives with just the pull of a trigger
Not multiple pulls but just one
Why, why does it take just one to cause so much destruction
It’s like an eruption, so much chaos in the crowd

NRA
What are you doing to prevent these things from happening
Did the founders expect these weapons of mass destruction
Bullets that exploded
Guns that made no noise
Children died
Children are still dying
What’s your excuse
For these deaths
For these 500 plus people injured
False truths that this time will be different
We’ll change our ways
Change our laws
To make sure this never happens again
All lies
Will we ever change?
Will we ever break this cycle of death?

NRA
What’s your excuse?

Depress
Josh Oct 2017
It’s alright
I’m upright
I’m not gonna fight
I know you were right
It’s been so long
I’ve tried to be strong
How long have I been battling I don’t know
All this mess in my mind like what do I, whoa
The solution came to me like pollution to the hudson
Mind volution
This feelings been hitting me for longer than I can remember
I thought it was a trojan horse, nothing harmful just a feeling
Who knew feelings could take you over like a rebel
It’s like a parasite because it's feeding off me and fueling itself
A self sufficient invention so deadly as one could imagine
Deadly to make the strongest men fall to their feet
Make the strongest most sturdiest men lose their lives
It’s not a bomb, but it can feel like one
It’s not a gun, but it can feel like one
It’s not something that attacks you physically, it makes you attack yourself physically
It leaves an impression
On your heart and others
Doesn’t go away like you want it to
You can start popping pills to make it go away
But it never goes away
It hides in the shadows waiting to strike
It sometimes makes you wanting to strike
Against others or maybe yourself
Either way this thing
This thing inside of you
Doesn’t have to control your life
It doesn’t make you ill
Doesn’t make you crazy or weird
It’s an evolved form of a common feeling
A form which has gone to new levels to control
It creates pressure everywhere that the old feeling would never do
Depression is evil
But good always beats evil
Just remember, at the end of the tunnel there is light
No matter how far that tunnel goes
There is something there at that end
Just be prepared,
Bring a flashlight, water, and your favorite toy
I promise you’ll find the light

American
Josh Oct 2017
American
That’s what they call us
As they throw us in the truck with our hands tied
Our tongues are tied with what to do
Our feet are tied, we can’t seem to move
We just wanted to go on vacation
Now it seems we’re stuck in this situation
American
I wasn’t even born there
I’m adopted
They take my wedding ring
The wedding ring of my fallen soldier
I thrash as I’m hit by a boot
I begin to cry
American
We’re thought to be wealthy
But not all of us all wealthy
We all think of the American dream
American or not, we want to live happily
American
We are targeted because of who we are
We are targeted because of what our nation did
I wish our nation hadn’t done it
So I wouldn’t be in this truck at night wondering if I will die
American
We would rather gain money than help another dying nation
We would destroy a country for our benefit
We would shun a state because they are different
We have created monsters
We have created organizations that have ruined us
American
It’s our identity
It’s who we are
We didn’t choose to be American
We just happened to be this way
Just because we’re American doesn’t mean we can’t feel pain
Just because we’re American doesn’t mean we can’t be poor
Just because we’re American doesn’t mean we can’t be human
American
That’s what they called us
As the people in suits carried us away
As they left our captors with a bag full of dollars
Is that what I’m worth
A bag full of money
I’m just an American
