your wings
are made
of a spectrum of grey
there's not much to say
except words you don't wanna hear

you were always so gentle
even when you flew away
even when i wanted you back
even when you couldn't stay

your kiss
so sweet
like toffee
and lipstick
i missed it
i wish that
you were here

i act like
you weren't what
i saw you
to be my brain
so why does
it still hurt
like my heart
trapped in tracks
run over
by one thousand trains

why would i
do it all again
if i could
have you again?

i want to touch you
but its shameful
and you're on the other side
of the yellow line
in the carriage
beyond the gap
a world away
a different track

we don't realise
how much there is left unsaid
till we don't see each other
for half a year
and you push me away
when i hold you near
and you mouth words
my anxiety tells me you don't mean
though you tell me
it was instinctual
some part of me tells me
that i suppose it must be something real

glitter
coats your eyelids
and the visible light spectrum
clouds the streets
till all we can see
are rainbows
but im staring at your lips
kissing your neck and cheek
holding you close to me
like magnets
there is a force
we've tried to ignore
but it's pulling me
to you.

the things my eyes see
Kai Sep 2017
If I went in deep with my eyes shut
Would I see the same things if my eyes were open?

The stars?
Perhaps.

The oceans?
Maybe.

The darkness?

Without a doubt.
