The Moment
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
Crescent moon is keen
The cave wears a black jacket
Come, kindle the lamp

Come What May
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
Crimson cracks in clouds
On your breath a petrichor
Moistened duskysmell
Evening in your eyelashes

What else is needed to make a poem
Honey from spoon and the lemon in a slice
Apples blooming in moonlight
To you and me the time looking on

Moons have to be awakened
Apple call to be answered
Yellows and reds in the heart beat
A romantic Acrostic
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
As you swing in rocking chair up and down
And the light plays hide and seek on your aroma
Words at windows wearing each a golden crown
Ask me to give each of them a crimson stanza

Those of us who can observe this verbal dance
In the ripples raised by your deep lake water
Are every now and then in restless trance
Until is born from the waves a lyrical laughter

If it is night some stars descend to watch the chemistry
Sometimes lend their radiance to the figure of joy
What happens then in the churning is a mystery
We open the door and lo there is Helen of Troy

We know this way by which darkness travels to light
Our boredom ends in the valley of Nirvana
Our struggle easily succeeds in an orange delight
More delicious is the trigger in your aroma

Two glasses
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
Ocean beckons from
Hidden laughter in your eyes
Crystals of blue sky

As you say come in
It's a door of poetry
Crazy words and deeds
Haiku

The Rivers met and ...
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
The two hungry rivers met at last
In moments glassed
They came into each other
The two hungry rivers

The dark air looked on
The darker rooms lit fireworks
Sparkling knife and fork
The train moved slow and fast
The path
Devoid of all math
As long as it can last
Through the pine and hills
Rain arrives and falls
Until the basin fills

And the two rivers
They shout they sing in crimson thrill
In pink oxygen their lungs they fill
Time stands still

Sometimes time does stop
To gaze and taste the honey drop

The Call
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
Cloudy sunshine at the window
Orange-warm spells of shower
Magnolias in the mountains
Earlobes in a pink emotion

Polka Dots
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
A big tree
With pale foliage
Looking on
At a smaller pine at filigree
Of sunshine and shadow
On its deep green leaves
The sunshine has sprinkled
Lemon yellow polka dots
On its whole body
The gladdened big tree says
What a brilliant painting
Because of you, replies the younger one
Without the shade you provide
I would have been dull

Both laugh
From above
A cloud smiles
Raindrops fall on both
They look lovely

Eye-beam Bridge
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
While clouds darken the sky
All the lights in the sky take refuge in our eyes
See, how nicely an eye-beam bridge arises between you and me
Monsoon sings outside our room in its splash... plip plop plip plop
In our rooms it is lub dub lub dub
The birds are restless
Come, let us raise a few haiku on the bends in the bridge

Poetry
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
You sprinkle golden dust
From your poetry thoughts
I read with an almost lust
In fMRI radiant slots

A blue dash between the words
A scarlet touch between lines
A sudden flash of a sword
Here a sweet and there saline

Between stanzas a shade
A breeze from a river shore
Dew on soft green blade
Then further light for sure

Amidst the sweat and blood
Cool handful of flood

Rain
Probir Gupta Jul 2017
Wandering rain clouds
Lotus blooming in two pots
How long one can wait
A Haiku
