Emily May 2018
I'm tired of being
where I've been
Everytime I try
Something new,

It's not quite right,
Not the same.
Something is missing.
Something old.

Memories haunt me
Nightmares untamed
Wish I could find
A little of both.
Emily Aug 2018
It's that magic touch
The crackle of electricity
Darting between parted lips.
One hand caressing;
One gripping reality.
Spiraling out of control.
It is real.
I did not expect it.
Now pretend it doesn't exist.

There is a mutual understanding
Between two people in pain.
A silent agony lingers
Behind each interaction.

Companionship is only
Distraction. No remedy exists.
Only time can heal
Wounds dealt to the soul.

True beauty is constructed
Out of the ruins of
Hasty desicions and
Long forgotten injuries.

Together in pain
Together we heal.
To know and to be known
Is all that we seek.
Emily Aug 2017
We came together and I wept.
You took a piece of My soul
I yearn for better days.

Keep me in your thoughts.
I will never love again,
If it be not you.
Emily Jul 2018
Everyday is the hardest
Where do I start?
Where should I end?
Did I never learn to think?
Emily Jun 2017
I stare through a forest of thorns,
War wages, clashing.
Yet no sound reverberates.
All is muffled. Silence.

Nails drive into my brain,
Numbing cacophony shakes my soul.
Mind and heard now divided,
My existence begins to shake.

Debate ensues.
Thoughts, screaming louder than one another
Tearing their way through my mind.
What of me is left behind?
Shreds of my being float into space.

My mind escapes itself
The Universe behind me wans.
There I stay forever
With my body left behind.
Emily Jul 2018
I work so I can work.
When I get home,
I work some more.

A never-ending, exhausting cycle.
