Mustang
Josh Vasquez Nov 2018
Riders upon four mighty hoofs
Four riders and the sea
The sun breaks like waves light
Striking the desert as far as they can see

Clear is their day and the distance ahead
Beads of sweet and soaked attire
As clear as the path left of their dead
An outlaw life to not be desired

Trails of sand drenched with tension
A life full of adrenaline and money
Devoured by the law and anticipation
Upon death as a youth with no family

The Sun Set's, Then Rises
Josh Vasquez Jun 2018
My time,
subtracted,
from my being.

My heart,
multiplied,
by my feelings.

Both growing,
adding,
to my surroundings.

Surrounded by hate,
suffocating,
my being.

Shrouding my sight.,
blinding,
my future.

My past,
thrusting me,
forward.

And the Sun set's, then rises

Never Ending sidewalk
Josh Vasquez Jun 2018
A bright light hits me
A dictionary of emotions,
Fills my being, I see creation
Followed by a rainbow of nouns

Tears trace my cheeks
My eyes blink, lips quiver
My emotions narrow
Choosing one noun forever

Alone
Josh Vasquez May 2018
I stand in a box,
Alone

Thought and fright,
Compound

Fighting to see ahead,
Unknown

The air gets stale,
Alone
Josh Vasquez May 2018
You can't control my words
They will mutate and intimidate
Lose form and transform your mind
Taking you on a journey
Leaving your dreams in death's hands

A vivid picture of nature and heaven
Leaving an inprint of the devil and hell
Or the design of creation and hope.
Longing for direction
A "hit" of the proper proportions
Josh Vasquez May 2018
I can dance with you my amour.
And live a life under the rainbow.
So brilliant is my blind sight.
It is clear I don't want to let you go.

Distressful Conclusion
Josh Vasquez Nov 2017
Silent and curious
Moving about
Fingers roaming
Adventurous shout

Joints clicking
Some clacking
Remorse lacking
Bones breaking

A full moon
Tears drop
Hearts lept
Future's crop

Loves service
Hates deliverance
Human compansion
Culture's inheritance

Atoms collision
Governments collusion
Destructive forces
Mind's illusion

How do you feel now that your tears have dried up?
The sands of time have ran out
and the hour has reached zero.

Drift back to reality now, reach out for
normalcy,
but this cannot be--replaced by the "yes man" after mourning.
What have you done for me lately?

Excuse me!  For I know what you do.
No more waiting for the perfect moment to pounce.
I will act and strike with haste.

No longer ruled by outdated laws.
I am conjuring my own path.
Laid out before the hole
left in your wake. Wake up!

Slow Burning Pain
Josh Vasquez Oct 2017
A note never claimed
The wind is to blame
After all my love proclaimed
I won't be there tonight

A note left for dead
On a lonely journey
The heaven's are fed
Now the clouds cry openly

A note from the heart
That bared my soul
Now we are blown apart
My heart left with a hole

A Rose And A Rainbow
Josh Vasquez Jul 2017
A rose, a crack in the sidwalk,
rain clouds, heartache, tears.
hate destroys the rose.  Death.

A trumpet plays, a crack in the sky,
the sun's warmth.  A rainbow smiles,
birds chirp, the smell of rain.  Love.

Come Walk With Me
Josh Vasquez Jun 2017
Come walk with me
While we are young and free
So we can build each memory
Because a life together I forsee

For your face fills my dreaming eye
Love for you surrounds my heart I do not lie
So allow me to serve you with all my heart
And I promise my love for you will never depart

Therefore as we grow to a ripe old age
Our joy of being together will never fade
So why don't you come walk with me
All the while holding hands for eternity

On Top
Josh Vasquez Jun 2017
A woman stands on a hill,
alone with her thoughts.
Through her pain she must feel
compassion for ought nought.

But stand alone and fight the mighty fight.
Bringing forth agony and fright.
From dusk till dawn she persevered alone.
To stand atop the loneliest of drones.

Witnessing Life And Death
Josh Vasquez Jun 2017
Have you ever witnessed the wind carry a loved one away

While the morning brings their face to light

And the night pulls tears out of memories

As your dreams make everything all right

— The End —
