Her eyes downcast betrayed her, and, in that moment,
He sensed an ocean between them,
Once so sweet her smile that oft would light his world,
Now empty, cold and faithless.

Her manner though polite, all warmth dissolved,
He felt a desert between them,
Her empty words that once filled him with such joy,
Now she brushed a tear to affirm it.

His heart broken, and her promises lay waste,
As she turned to leave, he could now but know,
His imagination had not set out to trick him,
Clear as day turns into night, he had lost her.

His belief of such great love lay broken,
And just as a window that shatters,
His dreams lay like shards upon the ground.

I cannot see the world as you do,
But I remember it well,
Blue-skies, clouds and sunshine,
Rain, hail and thunder too,
Now I can smell it, hear it and remember.

I cannot see the faces I love,
but I remember them well,
smiles, laughter, dances and play,
sadness, tears and sometimes pain,
Now I can sense it, feel it and remember.

I cannot see the beauty of the world,
But I remember it well,
Dawn, dusk, nature and creation,
war, destruction, growth and acceptance.
now I can know it in my heart and remember.

But I cannot See it.
Imagine if you suddenly became blind and had to rely on other senses and memory!!!!

So oft' he used to pass my way,
And merrily nod- passed the time of day,
with a lift politely of his bola-hat,
to wander on again.

His stature somewhat portly,
Yet, was charming just the same,
I no doubt him a gentleman,
With hat, and gloves and cane.

One day he stopped and bowed so low,
Was not an empty gesture,
For good I am his wife now,
And he passes-by no longer.
