For Maddie
Joaniep May 2017
A little girl went missing
One dark but starry night,
We do not know what happened
Although, some think they might.
So many thoughts and theories
About what might have been
There is much fact and fiction,
The like you’ve never seen
It’s certainly a mystery
What happened to this child,
But one thing is for certain
The case must not be filed
It’s not about the parents
It’s not about the Police
It’s not about the rights or wrongs,
and where they had their teas.
It’s about a little person
A Grandchild, sister, niece,
And someone knows just where she is
You need to tell us , please.
Somebody knows the answers
They know its only right.!!
What happened to that little girl,
That dark and starry night ??
10 years since this little girl vanished in Portugal, Our press are concentrating on how the parents feel which is fair enough, but I just wanted to draw attention back to the true victim. My apologies if my words offend, it is only my opinion,

My Poetry
Joaniep May 2017
You may not like my poetry
You may not like the rhyme

It does not need to suit you
To me its not a crime

To me it’s something that  I do
To while away the hours.

I do not write it just for you
It isn’t for your flowers

So if you do not like my taste
Please kindly pass me by

and go with speed and all your haste
and do not spend your  time

For time is very precious
and yours is not to waste

A Remembrance Day Poem
Joaniep May 2017
They are brave young men, those, who have gone off to war,
“They’ll all be back soon, ” on the posters they saw.
But they aren’t back so soon, and they’ve fought and the’ve fought,
And some feel they’ve fought for a cause that was nought.

Years have passed by but the battles wear on,
And the news comes back home that more young men are gone.
Never to come home to the land of their birth,
As the fall to their deaths on some strange foreign earth.

As the wars carry on in some guise or another,
We are told of a death, and its somebodies brother.
Its some bodies son, or its somebodies dad,
And we all feel the same, this is all so so sad.

But where will it end, When will it stop?
When can solutions be found at the top.
When can world leaders, see some common sense,
And stay out of these wars, just sit on the fence.

We cannot allow for our men to keep dying,
For people abroad who continue defying.
They don’t want our help, they don’t share our views,
The death of our soldiers doesn’t appear on their news.

We need to accept, that their lives are quite that,
Their traditions are based on historical fact,
To them we have no right to be interfering,
In those countries away where the heat is so searing.

So lets bring them home, all those boys far away,
In the countries out east holding evil at bay,
The powers that be need to find the world peace,
But by talking together & making wars cease.

I may not be the greatest,
The world has ever known,
I'm certainly not perfect,
I'll never be St Joan,
But in your hour of darkness
And if you feel the need,
I'll be right there beside you,
Upon my mighty steed.
I'll help you with your battles
and you I will defend
I'll always be there with you,
Until the bitter end.
