Tyler Watkins Jan 2016
He just wanted to be known and presented.
So he fell in love with photographer's attention.
He worked so hard to be liked and be noticed.
Hoping someday he'd be in the focus.
The age old game of hide and go seek, was played by the two week after week.
Over apologizing for what was done wrong, the boy's life had become an endless swan song.
Begging for friendship he thought that he wanted, by his thoughts and his doubts he was consistently haunted.
The photographer left and the boy felt redundant. He felt some normality for this feeling was constant.
He just wanted to be happy, so he fought and he fought but , the photographer's love just couldn't be bought.
As time went on and the distance increased, the boy was okay and felt finally free.
He watched from afar the photographer's work, seeing the subjects with their smiles and smirks.
The boy had returned to the cage he escaped, kept company by jealousy and unwanted rage.
So why not the boy? Why couldn't he be
in the camera lens vision, just out of his reach?
You see I'm the boy, and I'll never be free.
I'll be captured in photographs that aren't ever of me.
