I bake in the kitchen.
I am making cookies.
They burn.

I was distracted by my dog, playing in the yard.

I go to school.
I take a test.
I don’t finish the test.

My attention was caught by rabbit outside the window.

I sit down to write a poem.
Maybe that will get my

I ravage the world.
It isn’t my own.
I didn’t think it was.

I didn’t create it.
I just wrote its story.
But if what I write isn’t true.
It becomes so.

Allowing me.
To ravage the world.
Which isn’t my own.
But I’ll make it mine.

I am starstruck.
I looked into the sky.
And I saw

The sun.
The clouds.
The ethereal bodies of the sky.

Later I looked again.

My sun was gone
Replaced by the Sun
The Stars
I gazed in wonder.

These heavenly beauties
Who watched us grow
But did not care.

I was starstruck.
