I'm like a spider web and
I have streams of Flies
The Flies stick to me, with their
Twitching red egg eyes

Then it's crinkled legs
Do creep onto the web
The flies on one side
Shout goodnight and goodbye

No matter how hard they try
Their cries fall on flat spines
They are spider food
Tomorrow their friends will be too

A swimming pool in Autumn
Soggy orange leaf coat
The attendant has a tilted look
And undresses my natural head

How I wish I was a lake
How I wish I was lived in, not on
No bright and inflatable terrors
Just lovely moody yellows

My nature is gone

Why do these things hit us
Like a bird hitting a brick wall
So unnatural and so unneeded
Why do they haunt me

I wonder why is anger, so easy to father
It comes from most scenery
But is difficult to gather
I want it to wilt away
A tower block of fury

When will I be a wood cut man
So tall and full of stamina
O make me difficult to fell
O make it so I understand you as well
