There is what I want to be,
what I see myself as,
what I am seen as,
what I am wanted to be.

There is what I am,
guided by what I choose,
molded by what I need,
enticed by what I want,
loaded with what I have a tendency to be.

Here I go to make a difference,
one step then another,
with a smile on my face.

The people call though not in sight,
I see them yet they're no where near.
Rwanda how your children call me,
united, loving, oh so dear.

Bananas sweet and smiles sweeter,
sharing all of the little they had.
I call in my heart to the children of Rwanda,
with your memory I'll never be sad.

I could tell a hundred stories of love and friendship,
nineteen years and still in my heart.

Today I make an honest stand,
I draw a line clear in the sand.

Shall pride raise me upon a shelf,
to judge my neighbor and love myself.

Instead I choose a better favor,
to judge myself and love my neighbor.

Not to harsh and none too sparing,
we all need love and to be sharing.

With that it seems I draw a curtain,
your own conclusion shall be certain.

Let your toes slip into the shallow water,
watch the sun glisten as you feel the breeze.
Let your head rest on the mossy hillside,
a little bird singing and some waving trees.
Let your cares go and renew your insight,
the water is shallow, but not your soul.

Plant trees.
Plant flowers.
Plant food.
Plant love.
Watch them grow.
