A man walks through a field with a woman at his side.
Their both smiling wide in the sunset
She starts to dissolve into the air
His smile goes with her
And he wakes up.
A man walks through a crowd on his way to work
There’s no woman at his side
He’s wearing a frown
He loses pieces of his body fighting the wave of people
The people aren’t people
And he goes back to sleep
A man walks through a bar and orders a drink
A woman is waiting for him all the way across the bar
He orders a brandy for himself and food for her.
And he dreams
A man walks through a field alone
He’s moving slow, like his feet are
Of clay
He wakes up.
And it’s snowing ashes
There’s a dog outside
And the world is only filled with the sound of
Hand against cheek
Of clay
the man’s world
Of clay
And he walks towards a light
