Ambivalence
Thomas Haverman Dec 2013
I wish I had a Mother.
Or a Father without children.

At least the Spirit to stop wishing.

Start/ Finish
Thomas Haverman Oct 2012
The problem with infinity is
that it excludes a fresh start

Like the first day of spring just
that whisper of winter holds

and that ring that
although worn thorougly

still a ring is.

Maybe we should adjust
our goals; no more longing
for a new beginning

but aim to not forget.

Some sculptures
Become more beautiful
by time
by weathering.

The Thinker, by Rodin
For example, I know
For sure that
when the last piece

was hewn
Looked less
impressive than it
does right now.

But you ..

Should I make a picture
of you right now
right there

as you are
lying down
in the grass

your lowerback
The ground
Not touching

then all Thinkers
Would realize

that they today
or earlier

never were as
Beautiful
As you
there, now.

Lying there, in
that Lucky grass

in the grass.

Contradictio
Thomas Haverman Feb 2013
Although art and science together
seem contradictory,
beauty is
as mathematical
as subjective.

For example;

the infinite number of pi;
the hourglass figure.
The divine proportion.

And you.

"Language" , as my teacher assured me
"Is a way for us to express ourselfs."

or something along those lines.

"It it a tool to lie." or
"to approximate what seems far away".

For me it is a basement.
where one hides.

where a mistake is forgiven
and where I can fool myself

That all above is true
