Poem for Fall(ing)
thelost Sep 2014
I like your smile,
and all the space between
my knowledge of you and reality,
it really makes me beam.
In my heart you're everything,
but in my head nothing at all;
new romance is so fun,
until you slip and fall.

Prayer of the Hopeless
thelost Jul 2013
Love!
Love, you sweet, intangible, terrible thing, making a fool out of us mere human beings
Oh, how happy we are to dance and sing about such a tragic, horrible thing.
Sappho, Carton, Phaedra, you-- please pray for my poor soul to make it through
Inner eye, common sense, don't be misled by the rose-colored lens!

An Ode to Humility
thelost May 2013
Sometimes, the days grow fleeting
Maggots and worms constantly surround your being
and finally, a fitting throne!
But you are not worthy enough to call even it your home.
Chime goes the clock,
as your ground falls through
Not even maggots should look up to you.

The Power Within...
thelost Apr 2013
There is something within me
That I dared not realize was true
Yet I can feel its presence
I can see its anger spew

From within it shouts
And demands to be let out

"You are not worthless"
it says
"You are powerful beyond compare"
But when I finally try to find it
I find it is not there.
