Flame erupts from emptiness
Red, glowing embers spouting out
Crackle, sounds the fire
Emitting ghostly black smoke
Blotting out the stars, heading higher
Orange licks of flaring flame
All wild, not tame
Forest fire all the same
Heavy trunk towers
Not much longer anymore
Soon it falls, seeming slow
Brittle branches breaking,
The sizzle of sap
The wood turning white
From the depths grow specks of light
And from this grows new fire
And from this grows new flame
More trees topple,
Sending up their roots
Now the sky starts turning silver
While the sun burns fiery gold
The flames start to dwindle
The air is growing cold
Clouds form on the horizon
Fat rain falls on the glowing remains
Putting out the embers
Now the flame no longer stays
With every night comes a new day, until there comes no more.
