Silence can be deadly
It creeps in, circling you;
Deviously, like a soft breeze,
it whispers insecurities.

Slithering behind silence,
loneliness creeps along
A sweet caress on the skin
Coaxing you to feel empty.

Sadness flows into the empty space
Taking everything in its path
A shortage of breath -
A reach of a hand
Flowing endlessly like water
Nothing but hurt is left in its wake.

Waiting to strike with venom
Pain rears its head
Thoughts so hurtful -
It poisons mentally & paralyzes physically.

Anger appears
For being weak, for being in pain
It feeds off negativity

I represent black excellence.
Not a queen but the very best,
You can call me empress.
Hair stay laid,
outfit stay slayed,
grades all A's.
That's excellent.

Chick you could never dethrone me.
It's cute that you try,
But take several seats.

I have all the qualities to rule this world
And the bite to back it up.
Jump again froggy,
No guarantees you'll jump again.

Let's set the record straight:
I got the brains and beauty.
Don't forget the brute strength.

I see why you emulate me
Just remember you might be a queen
But I'm the Empress.

I win.

The truth:
I'm not okay. I'm not fine. I'm in so much pain and my heads a mess full of screaming voices.

I'm confused, lonely, and my heart hurts thinking about you.

I want you all for myself but I can't have you and it drives me crazy.

I'm always trapped in my mind over thinking. I think all the time about what could have been and what would it have been like if i just said yes.

I think of all the memories we have.

The good and the bad.

It makes me smile with tears in my eyes.

Truthfully I wish I didn't fall in love with you but then again I'm happy I did. You make me happy you also make me sad. My heart races for you and shatters at the sight of you too.

I just want to give my all and love with everything I have.

Too be free and not wonder about what could have been.

But I guess its not meant to be anyway.

The lie:
Everything's completely fine.

The truth
I'm losing this game called love.

I'm losing my individuality.

Worst of all I'm losing myself falling for you.

Open up your eyes
Stop smelling lies
And just listen
Maybe then
You'd hear
My truth

Skin hot to the touch paired with your fiery temper always singes those around. Like a fire you can only blaze higher.

Aloof and cold you never express the workings of your mind. Preferring to freeze me out and give the cold shoulder until I'm begging to be burned by your touch again.

Your so mixed up being hot and cold at the same time. The warmth of your body excites me the frosty voice deters me. Its like winter in summer dealing with you.

I never understood how you can be so warm and cold at the same time and like a fool I get burned over and over again.

Even if you soothe the burn I'll freeze and shatter sooner than later.

Your so hot and cold, a real paradox you know? If only you knew how confusing you really are.

OLD
Take my hand and
Push me over the edge
From where I stand
Here we go again
Infect me with your laughter
Till I'm drunk on the high
And we'll fly away
To a special place
Where we never go back
Where I love you like I'm addicted
We can dance till the world ends
And make love till the light shines again

NEW
You're so hypnotic
Maybe even toxic
I want to run right to the edge
And fall in love with you again
Only then can we dance the might away and forget the past

They laughed and pointed out her hand me down clothes.

So she got a job and bought new trendy clothes.

With new clothes she thought she could fit in no one would call her out on her hand me downs anymore.

She walked with her head held high passed the perfect Barbie's.

They laughed at her hair while flipping their straight glossy hair.

And so later that day she burned her beautiful ***** curls into submission.

She begged her mama for nails so she could fit in. Her mama only sighed and told her she was beautiful regardless of what the other girls thought.

She tsked and rolled her eyes sneaking out to get her nails done anyway.

Now when she went to school there was nothing they could laugh at her for.

She had the clothes, hair, and nails.

Again she passed the Barbie's and they laughed at her once more.

Confusion took over her. 'I look just like them! Why are they laughing?'

She ran to the restroom to check if anything was wrong with her.

And as she starred at her reflection she realized she lost who she was trying to be someone else.
