I am drawn to this music
By the sway of beat and rhythm
Dancing softly
Gliding in the warm night breeze
The lights are dim and golden
I hold the secret
Your secret
Our secret
Tonight
We will never be the same

My contempt wraps your ocean
Of childish notions like a vice
I am a wispy poison
You cannot touch me
As I am made of smoke.
My elements confuse you, enrapture you
I captivate you as I
Stride forward through shadows
To greet you with
Painted lips and charcoaled eyes
You have given me your heart
Unwittingly and unknowingly;
The one whom you made this way
You are mine under lock and key

For all your attention seeking and pretenses,
You look ridiculous.
Enough with the games,
No one wants to play.
Drop your mask,
I see cracks across that smile
Swallow your chest - swelling sense of pride,
pride is anything but rare.
Don’t whine that your life *****,
You have everything

Poetry is...
Poetry is a coded message to be deciphered exclusively by you;
Never to be seen the same way by two people
Poetry is a declaration for you to not look at yourself in the mirror,
But to look out a window and witness a different perspective
Poetry inspires you to rewrite your life’s story
With someone else’s pen.
Poetry is a tale with a twist;
It considers all advice and then throws reason out the window.
Poetry is the reason abstract
No longer means abstract
Poetry is the key in the universal lock
Which turns all conventions on its head
And paints the silver lining on
Night clouds
Just to catch your eye.
Poetry is new beginnings and different endings.
Without poetry, our words would have no voice.

Moonlight smoothes over the sunset
I stare at her face
And sing to her;
And she sings back
Whispering Orion’s secrets

I dance with stars
Stepping to their lead
The black spaces fill me,
Where words fail me
The wind lifts my hair
Painting patterns in the clouds
In the light of the moon
I drift in dreams
