Mountains to dust
Tamara Parker Feb 2014
Lush fields of green grow dandelions and daisies
Rivers of crystal blue, little fish swim with friends
White capped mountains, arrows of birds fly
Woodland forests filled with golden light of the setting sun
Holes litter the meadows where moles and rabbits have made their home

But slowly this daydream turns more sinister
The dandelions and daisies wilt away and leave nothing
The mountains send down avalanches and crumble
The woodland forests are chopped down and the sun turns cold
The happy world you loved crumbles to dust and ruin

Because this isn’t the reality, however much you wish it were,
It’s merely a daydream, caught by your curiosity
The real world is harsher, but these dreams are just to cope
It doesn’t matter where you are: they are here to stay
They help you glide through life, with nothing but hope
