There once was a crocomodile
Who lived as the lord of the Nile:
He once ate a pharoah
From meatballs to marrow
While crying and wearing a smile.

When I awaken
When I hear the weave
Of Egyptian cotton
Rise and fall
Around your torso
When you wrap yourself
As an Ibis
Offer yourself
Become eternal
Whilst we worship each other
As Pharaohs
The sun will continue to burn

In every grain of sand, a universe unfolds,
A tapestry of whispers, both timid and bold.
In the desert's embrace, where silence sings low,
Life's essence dances, in the ebb and the flow.
A Pharaoh's shroud, woven tight with care,
Holds the weight of a kingdom, yet love lingers there.
Beneath the fine fabric, what secrets reside?
A heart, not in riches, but in love's gentle tide.
We gaze at the surface, where power may gleam,
Yet overlook the treasure, the soul's quiet dream.
Like grains in the wind, that swirl and that sway,
True worth lies within, in the heart's sacred play.
So let the sand whisper, in its soft, timeless song,
Of the journeys we've taken, where we all belong.
For in every small moment, like stars in the night,
The heart finds its rhythm, in love's pure light.

*When Pharaoh
checked out at the Red Sea,
odd circumstance made a grab for his vacant scepter,
and kingdom collided
with plague to paint a mural
on the palace wall (or maybe, it was the hotel lobby),
of a dreamer's garden,
his wife in veils, her dance a cordial
invitation to a great many unmentionable things,
the feral sky had blown
itself out, and in muted candle
nightshade, the mistress of war disembarked,
and so somewhere
in those upper rooms, ruler
and consort, hearing the sound of running water,
mystified their carnal
senses by infusing themselves
with a little vigorous morphine of the soul*

Waterworks are failing
Nile faucet tears
***** powder salt
Plague blood wine
Fermented analgesic sea
Swallow Ebers papyrus
Swallow Sanger's scroll
Raze the periscope, this is no crusade
Born blind under duress
They sink mid-thigh in pools of acronym
Copper pennies at their toes
Can't wish for things they haven't been
taught to believe
Steal them instead
They'll get a parade for far less
But then again the winds might turn
The sea might divide master and slave
And there they shall be peeing their pants
"In caelum fero--we make our mark"
You picked a bad day to fight, Egyptian

The poor bless the rich,
and the lowly bless the mighty;
Even as Jacob blessed Pharaoh,
And the giver blessed.

Wisely invested in mammon, secure,
I repose in my splendor, moronic—
bejeweled with scarabs, jackals, and cats.
My dividends total pharaonic.

The whip lands
on labyrinth of lines.
The shout, filled
with a hopeless prayer -
”jahve!”
The scream,
prelude of the charm
that death whispers.
Pharaoh takes
a bite
sweet grapes
satisfy
as much as
the queen's ********

I drove a chariot for Egypt’s dead gods,
obeyed decrees of an angry Pharaoh.
Vision widens where hope seems to narrow
as coral crusts the rims and axle-rods.
Submerged upon the sands my army’s host;
Erythrean currents their secrets keep.
The waters gave way, drowned me in the deep
while God led you forth toward your promised coast.
There was no choice for me, the charioteer.
A tyrant sent me forth to hunt you down;
pursuing you, I thought your end was near.
In the descent, I lost my star and crown.
My lord was false, while yours continues strong…
I rise from depths to further you along.

(Inspired by article below)
I.
Continuity
your filibuster egg of sand
dazzled curiosity
with creaky shell of hints
heaped upon the tedium
of knowledge's unfurl undeterred
by encyclopedic impatience
Assurances of rip(Van Winkl)ed
economics shooed paper strings of
revelation like anarchy-powered
taxes summoning a foreword
to anachronistic campaigns
of environmental friendliness
II.
Meanwhile years
have been filed down to flashes of
chronology for continuity's organic rebus
However long it took
the economic karma to fall into the
abodes of hedonistic pharaohs
it was instant
Skin that ruled behind the constitution
of allergic breath
bailed on the bones against their most
sublime intentions
Limbo-treading landlords
huddled in their mummified freeze
after breadline bashers scolded them
with the spoils of a new brand
of pyramid scheming
Robbers of the coffin palaces
stole the intimations of identity
theft from today
Immortality and freedom
were compelled to share a meaning
like estranged siblings
or bound dynasties
I(a).
Abydos
how you coyly toyed with us
with a diversion bordering on monolithic
