Dancing on the beach
Nothing on my mind but the peaceful sound of the waves
Crashing ever so gently upon the sandy shore
The soft breeze on my skin as I frolick along
Careless and free
Beside me, a kind companion
She leaps and zooms around me
Like a majestic gazelle
Her spotted fur dancing in the wind
In this moment we are not connected to reality
Our hearts are singing the songs of the ocean
Our energy matching the bright warmth of the sun
We were never meant to be tamed
Chained to a life that isn't ours
We were born of the earth
God's perfect little creatures
We are as free as the birds that travel the skies above us
And even more precious

I'm fairly fond of your face
The feral look in your eyes

You forage among the foliage
Forever searching for a delicate flower
Feeble she may be
You assure her not to flee

Her eyes flicker and flutter at the thought
How fascinating a fantasy
That her fate could be changed
She is fooled by your fake smile

For you told her she could fly

She must follow her own feet

Fly away little fairy
There's a frenzy of fish in the sea
Ready to feast on your flesh

A fit little fawn
They flock to you

You stand frigid in fright

It's not finished until they say it's done

This game is not fixed

She was a rose,
She opened up to anyone who brought the slightest bit of light into her life.

She was beautiful,
But people took her beauty for granted,
Plucking at her every chance they got.
They picked off her petals
And ripped apart her leaves
And gave her a new name.

She grew thorns and wouldn't allow anyone to touch her
To protect herself from being hurt.

And without her petals,
No matter how many people told her,
She would not believe
That she was beautiful.
