Two Sides
The boy’s idea of heaven was
the girl’s version of hell
He had a devilish grin while
tears stained her angel cheeks

She lie there tense as
he steadily relaxed
the girl held back screams when
the boy released a moan

The boy left the room in silence so
the girl could weep violently
He told a tale of surrendered virginity while
She kept quiet of her stolen innocence

lost & found
They found his diary under his bed
pages full of love notes
and letters for the end

They found the gun next to his bed
loaded with midnight depression
and unloaded with midday impulse

They found his lifeless body next to them both
filled with self hate
and loved like a child

Residents
Walking through a big house
empty save the ghosts who roam my halls
though my loneliness invites them
around corners
in vacant rooms
lost souls not much different than mine

Pushing past a dusty door
a ghost’s inhabited this room for a decade
I patiently listen to its tale
sharp blades
many lustful hands
lost soul searching for different love

I open the sun-faced shades
frightening the lonely ghosts in my head
the beams chase them away
from corners
and vacant rooms
lost souls leaving mine to be free

She knelt on her carpet
in her new living-room,
A big cardboard box
in front of her,
unwrapping ornaments

It has been exactly ten days
since her mother left,
A small black hole
in her heart,
unravelled her

The rest of the family is out
enjoying the day,
the tall green tree
next to her
stands bare

No Christmas music, movies
or fire this year,
the bright happy memories
behind her now
break her

105 days
When she opened the door, she wished she could take it back
flushed face
ruined make up
She wondered how much longer she could keep this up
As she drifts into dreams, she thumbs over her new wounds
marked thighs
blood stained boxers
She thinks about how long it’s been since her last release
Then her bloodshot eyes flew open, she screams her regret
eight months
two-hundred sixty days
She decided how nice it’ll be to make it to a year next time
