Kindly open up
Are you there?
Real time, I need the right one.
Enough of crap.

Let's get real.
In time, you will see.
Now or never, how you waste!
And as you always vulnerable, never ready.

Just some stereotypical rambling.

Love European (art) movies.

Can anyone figure the acrostic?

1.
And so, I clamber up the heavy *****
and sit alone upon a wide, flat rock.

I still the voices clamouring hard within
and try to listen to the air settle and breathe . . .

The eagle swoops low, whirring loud beside the rocky outcrop
likening its talons to sustain the hold of life . . . (this line to be amended ...sounds odd)

Leaves quiver silent on massive trees
obedient to nature, yet roots bold outgrown . . .

Shade reaches and stretches genial arms
while feel of dark and moist, fertile ground pervades . . .

Air thick with teeming life the eye can't see
thrums with invisible threads, linking slow tendrils . . .

Quiet sky looms dignified and peers squinted
while sun rays slant into pores, kiss my cheek.

Beetles scamper light along the soft, red sand
and not unlike them, I seek still the answer within . . .

2.
Fierce fire takes up dry tinder, consumes into heated coils
destroying with relish, yet offer cleansing balm . . .

3.
Sudden rains refresh, glance off surprised face, upturned
sweet deluge leaves all sodden to delighted heart . . .

4.
I turn not away
I look up
to receive . . . gladly.

I give such thanks
fall on knees to see . . .

No red sky (as in my nightmares)
No lost sun
No smoky horizon
No grey trees
No dead leaves.

Only yellow sunshine
Only blue sky
Only green leaves
Only clear horizon

as far as the eye can see.

Insomniac scribblings :)

Just finished reading amazing short story by Joan Aiken (born 1924).

A most fabulous and dynamic tale of mystery and humour, hope and dreams by two protagonists Tom and Lily ...'Searching for Summer'.

Story written in the 1950's, of a life where only drab colours exist...no sunshine.
At the time of publication, the memory of the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki remained fresh in the minds of many.
People lived with the lurking threat of nuclear war, weapons retesting, radioactive matter (fallout), air pollution.
Simply put, nuclear anxiety.

Yet.....
If we can but give the merest credence to the power of dreams overstepping the bounds of reality, then maybe...just maybe.....(along with an indomitable spirit).....

oh well.

You will not find a more willing participant
To join you on this serendipitous adventure of luck.

We will merrily hijack the trippy ride of Helios
And daringly traverse the long way around the sun.

We will sleep together in the heart of the meadow
Where sun-dappled leaves and rabbits frolic in jolly romps.

We will swim in salmon-filled rivers and go upstream
Where many-coloured coins glint upon the surface.

We will not curb our enthusiasm to conceal the truth
Fixing Nyx, we share unbridled passion upon the moon.

We will cradle each other's fears within parched lunar craters
While the world waxes on the rim of existence, our love will not wane.

Let us be more than willing to unshackle the mind
To explore lost messages in a bottle on the high seas.

2.
Yet I'm willing to journey through the darkness even
With eyes closed
In an attempt to reach you
To find you.

I am so willing to play the fool advocating love
Than to be over cautious and lose out big time.

So, I am willing you ....to let drop the scales
'Twud be astounding to have a willing....you
Willing us to deflect this way untimely contretemps
And placing us this day upon an unbroken tide beyond.....

S T, 8 May 2013
Term used as tiny nod to cool programme, Curb your Enthusiasm.

Love it......doesn't Larry just rrrrrock!

Be willing to take that journey, for you never know where it may lead...or more importantly, what happens along the way.

In the time it took you to ponder and deliberate the pros and cons, think on this:
dreams slipped and broke its ankle and went down drains ......
while time just oh-so gleefully tick-tocked on....
and before you could wipe your eyes....
this chance will be packed away
...in a casket.

Nobody can live your life...but you.
Choose YOUR way....now.

Only NOW counts.
Be willing :)

So, like in that amazing film featuring Jim Carrey, say YES!

.
and so, what do we see?

[A]

1.
We see...
Their planet is third from the source
That it still takes sunlight 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach Earth
So, they're not as koodauzled yet
Thus, stable (for now)
Despite the polar melts and atmospheric fumes....

2.
We see.....
Stick-like appendages still grow out of extensions
At the end of long, dangly limbs
With hard yet pliable, translucent growths at end
To use for countless tasks.

3.
We see....
They still consume: plants....and animals
No change there.
Yet, now ....less subsistence
More modified products to eventual detriment.

4.
We see....still
They engage in warfare, of all kinds
Air, ground, mental, cyber, chemical....
No end to barrage of senseless acts
Violence is slippage as means to commune.

5.
We see...
Some figures more gaunt than others
A kind of poverty of the inside duels external opulence
Deep clutter and subsequent wasting
Twisted fragments of utter decay increasing.

6.
We see....
More enterprising ventures in communication
From lightbulb to phone to pads
Neat advancements in technology and science
From many kinds of wheels to flight.

7.
We see...
Their offspring subject to long years in learning
To maintain (by rote) their disproportionate rules and ready values
Propping equations and formulae into heads
Castaways on a rickety boat in a deep sea of confusion.

8.
We see....
Amidst beauty of their art in all forms
Of dance and music, visual and written
Other forms of entertainment are demeaning to some
Mind-numbing staring and raucous outbursts.

9.
We see...
Figures of peace reduced considerably
Voices erstwhile strong and fearless, full of candour and truth
Now, fashionable puppet-sticks of media
With regurgitated rhetoric a-spew.

10.
We see.....
Mother Nature and geriatric folk not as cared for
Neglected and (..)used
How long before this greed catches up....
Afore progeny be heirs to blight.

[B]

We see not....
Enough of

Peace
Harmony
Kindness
Sharing
Forward Thinking
Courage
Inter-Connectedness
Hope
Inner Consciousness

Not nearly enough.

[C]

We long to reach out and touch the centre of their being
And share fruits of universal wisdom
And steer all away from adversity.

Yes, we long so
For them to see.....

[D]

1.
Not yet....

All so easily done....but
They are not yet ready.....but
One day...

2.
Yet....

We will continue to observe
They know not we may be among them
observing

to return on the Aurora in a few light-seconds

QED...really?
as Mr. Lintnaar (my ol' Math teacher:) used to say

just a silly poem, is all.

TIP:
A must-see film (if only the introduction) ......"The Gods Must Be Crazy"

/ / /

INFO:

One light year (a measure of distance, not time) = 365 x 12 x 4 x 3 x 30 x 7 x 24 miles

The sun is 93 million miles from Earth (or 149 668 620 km)

Earth to Alpha Centaurus (closest star system to our sun) = 4,3 light years

/ / /

KEY:
Speed of light = 186 000 miles per second

One mile = 1,6 kilometres

1 light minute (the distance it takes light to travel in one minute) = 17 987 547.5 kilometres

1 light year = presently defined to be equal to precisely 31557600 light-seconds

Entertaining an angel unawares is not an everyday thing;
Playing a guitar in solemn solitude.

Being loved is beautiful
But please, set that caged bird free
When held, I don't want to be smothered.

True freedom is too rare
A PC for company can be so demanding
You are making tea; the child wants some chicken
I want some of your love
Is that so hard to understand!

Pictures on the wall, fresh fruit
The metre's (quickly) running away
Find it to forgive yourself; find it to forgive others
Guess you gotta hide within your own mind.

A sibling bored chez lui
A stand cradles somebody's scribblings
Stars are sometimes too far to reach.

What..where...who...how...where?

Where is this promised windfall?

Written 1993.

Was hesitant to post, 'cos content so seemingly disconnected....but, let me not fear..for, ironic context sits smack bang within the title!

Also, this one's structure flies in the face of all rhythm and rhyme.
Thwack!
If ye like not it...hey, man...sure ain't gonna cry buckets over it, ok.
Life's short enough, as it is ......lol

Sometimes, we gotta be content...seeketh not too muchlyeth....lol

yeah, man

Opened a book today
My eyes fell upon a page of poems
How odd, it feels so familiar to me
Yet, how can this be?

Picked up an organic instrument
And played a song I do not know
Whence cometh the inspiration?
Only from the whispers of ..... a previous life....

These things I see doing, I claim not expeditious
For it's only if and when....the muses decide to see fit
A mere vessel to transport what already is there!
Every possible thought-combo has its keen template.

Never did an equestrian thing before
Yet I find me mounting superb horse and ride
Flowing action, wide awake and so thrilling
No expletive required to tell of happy lingering.

Going upon the mountain to pray, this day
Not to find you
But that you ....find me
Don't you just give up so fast!

Can't deny strong polarising effect in here
This life affords us another chance: second time around.

S T, 4 May 2013
Hey, man...hello.

Our pods are our ships from Mercury.

As you grind us and eat
Yes, grind on....

We colonise your body.

Hooooooooooooo

Ha ha ha!

Achoo!

Achoooooo!

Ok, that out the way, three times.
Bless me :)
