If
Susieca Nov 2017
If
If shadows had their own identities,
go the going when our bodies need rest;
You won't see mine under the sun
when the sky is naked with its radiance.
It walks unafraid in quiet streets,
trods in valleys where nature breathes;
Or sits somewhere til the moonlight beams,
and fade with the night full of bliss.

Shadows
Susieca Nov 2017
Sometimes I have visions
of people's shadows clearer than themselves;
In the sunlit they are concealed,
but they appear in the shade.

From these shadows I can see
faces hiding, avoiding my stare;
Their yearn to exist is palpable
but silenced by fear and shame.

Truth kept cannot fool the eyes.
It blends in the light, but in the dark it glares;
Like a love that longs to fly,
is that shadow of self that dwells.

unwanted thoughts
Susieca Nov 2017
Nobody knows how different my world was,
I was like a secret keeper of Pandora's box;
Fear consumed me, I struggled with a mask
Day hid itself, night seemed to never last;
So I fancied rest from my barely breathing life,
But God said I was too young to bite the dust.
