Stars
Sophie Belle Sep 2013
In the space of deep celestial nights afar,
Dwell those who shine the lights of the future
into our present, of our past they are
ever watchful, their endless light so pure.
Always in sight of the light of our past
Yet their hope of the future is our view.
Brilliant is the song of those steadfast
Guides that tell of a time that is still true
who shine onto a world of hate and scars
The future of their past-our present. Stars.

Right/Left Brain
Sophie Belle Sep 2013
Our realm of life is a queer one to dwell.

A world full of color, beauty, music, light

Dancing round, causing our hearts to swell

With a hope for peace that seems out of sight.
Our realm of life is a queer one to dwell.

A world full of numbers and graphing pies

Tools for us to calculate and tell,

Tracing the dances if the starry skies.
Yet we portray them as antagonists,

We rip these whole beings, and slash them apart.

And the path of pain in our souls persist.

But in our souls we long for a new start.

A place where both spheres could dwell at peace-

A place where the right and lefts’ strife would cease.

Flames
Sophie Belle Sep 2013
We had just met for our daily meal
When through our midst blew a quiet Wind
That grew to a gale; quiet, surreal.
Yet the flames of Truth brought hope to our minds.
And Truth, like wildfire, ran through us;
Bewildering pilgrims for the Pentacost
When the Songs of Ascents rang out from us
In their mother tongue left them quite lost.
Pilgrems blamed them to be drunk at 9 o’clock
Yet Peter set them right with Joel’s prophesy.
Amazed, they listened to the one called the Rock
And withdrew their former claims of heresy
When baptised with the Truth that set them free
They go with the Wind to set the World free.

Barabbas
Sophie Belle Sep 2013
"Barabbas!" says my mother,"let Jesus be!"
I pull away from him, and brush myself off.
Inside a scolding I will get(probably).
Up stands a bloodied Jesus, giving a ragged cough.
Years pass by, He never gives a fight.
I, always behind, He always in front.
I fall into darkness, He ascends to light.
To His greetings I responded with grunts.
In prison I now sit, He the Teacher.
Passover comes, I to be crucified.
He is here? He will be set free. I’m bitter.
What? No! For a wretched scoundrel He died?!
This is the Power of our Creator
He breaks the Bonds of Death to send our Savior!

‘Amazing Grace, o how sweet the sound!’
Sound? Sweet sound?! All I know is screams and smoke!
In the top of this Tower, fear beats down
And the smoke of hate causes us to choke.
‘That did save such a horrid wretch like me.’
Those words of a wretch breathed out by me.
Now, I look at these words my family gave me,
And sing with Hope, setting my lungs free.
‘I once was lost, but now? I am found!’
I am lost in this maze of choking smoke,
The words help me lean on
The Word that was bound;
For me, for this moment, when I awake.
The world turns black, yet woe is not for me.
I was blind, but in His Grace, I see!

Made for This...
Sophie Belle Sep 2013
Heaven. Heaven? Where is this famed Heaven?
We’ve searched creations oceanic depths,
And space traversed by satellites even.
Where do we go to escape from death?
Or could it be, that this great mystery,
Is just around the corner of mortal sight-
Saints, who praise in the dance of eternity,
My triune deity, waiting behind the light.
Teaching us the dance of faithful love,
Waiting just past the curtain of music now.
Giving us the light of love, the peaceful dove
To shepherd us on the race we run now.
Then, coming Home, turning the bend – bliss!
To hear Them sing: Come, you were made for this!

Fireflies
Sophie Belle Sep 2013
Do you dream of going on an adventure?

Do tales of wandering haunt your dreams

While you rest from days monotony?

Do you yearn to roam ‘neath strange star beams?
As a child, did you tame dragons fierce

-and with a wooden sword battle trolls?

Or dance with the fairies by the brook

That with the voice of the sea calls.
At dusk, when you grew weary at last,

And the stars came out for their high dance,

Did you wonder what lies behind them

As you left for home in a sleepy trance.
And in your sweet dreams you did venture far-

To the land behind the firefly skies.

There you were cloaked in the dust of your dreams.

And when you woke, you trailed fireflies.
