It didn't bother me
when I looked straight into her eyes
She didn't love me, as I did her.
I was just glad I could let myself
risk pain in my heart one last time.
Every heartbreak leaves scar tissue;
but I still remain hopeful
one day someone will look at me,
as I her.

It's hard to fall inline with the repose I long for.
When I've become accustomed to the warmth,
eminating from the flame of chaotic disaster,

She was the girl I needed
I let her go
My chaos drew from her order
taking from her opportunity
I was not the guy she needed.

We present ourselves like the light of a city.
Showing what we want people to see,
hiding what people need to see.
A city will consume itself,
and so will we.
Exposing our truths will set us free.

There's no depth to my shallowness,
is what those who are naive think.
The facade I built is a fortress
built so that I may happily sleep

All along it was a feeling,
created by marketers and writers.
the glass shatter moment of my soul
was when I realized this love
I long for may not be real
