**Family**
Sherry Clark Oct 2011
Broken beyond repair
Time passing rips at the pieces
Too late for absolution
Danger, tears and lies
Flow like rivers
Anger and hatred abound
Unbridled despair
Fear of words
Cutting deeper than a blade
Reflections in the mirror lie
Tears stinging with reality
Matron lost
Seeking refuge from the eyes
Losing self to loathing
Here you are: Welcome home
Sherry Clark Oct 2011
Ever had a rhythm stuck in your mind?
Something like Suess with his Cat and his rhymes?
At this moment I do.

I don't want colored meat
or mean nasty guys,
I don't fit on a speck or live in a pocket.
I am just me and I love it.

This rhythm may not make sense.
But neither does hopping on Dads or tying horns to your pets.
This is random and coarse with some smooth fitted in.
Childhood memories coming back and no longer dim.
We long for the days where nonsense was fact
Try as we may we can't get those times back.
So I'll enjoy my socks and box and fox
And i promise to look out for that dreadful lorax!

**I'll skip down the lane where memories meet.
I'll share with my children the wonders of this world,
Where imagination and reality can become swirled.

Glitter
Sherry Clark Oct 2011
Rose petal on my floor,
How did you get here?
He left me here for you,
So that you would be aware.
Sliver chain on my bed,
How did you come to be?
He made me with his own hands,
Just so you would see.
Little letter on my desk,
Who wrote your sweet words?
He penned them down, with his heart,
Because you are his world.
Trail of glitter on my floor,
Do I follow thee?
Yes you do, he put me here,
So you may follow me.
Handsome heart in my home,
Why have thou come from above?
Because you needed an angel,
To wrap you up in love.
Rose petal, silver chain,
Letter on my desk,
Trail of glitter on my floor,
Lets my unease rest.
Beating hearts flying free,
Blessings from above,
The Goddess brought me you,
To embrace and love.

Perception
Sherry Clark Oct 2011
Restless, sleep won’t come
The night passes slowly
The ticking of the clock
Counting down
Every second closer to the finale
Can I make it?
Will all be lost?
The sun rises over the horizon
Birds sing their morning songs
The beginning, the end
I curl up under the madness
Sleep takes me

Consumed
Sherry Clark Oct 2011
Wealth of a future consumed.
Hatred brings forth despair and tears
I’m tied to my promises.
Life lain out before me
A chasm of nothingness
A prison of the mind.
Anger floods my mouth.
Words cut like a blade,
Weapons I have mastered.
Flowing vile poison
Smiling through the pain.
I shall destroy all I love
And it will consume me.

The end
Sherry Clark Oct 2011
Waves crash over my heart
Pain comes in manageable forms
Pain of hunger
Pain of loss
Pain of hurt
The tides twist us all
Making the forms shift and distort
Unmanageable
Drowning in sorrow
The waves ebb and flow
Tied to my pain
Release the ropes that bind
Freedom pulses from my veins
Rivers of crimson
Run red
Run clean
Darkness overcomes
Peace

Memories are sweet but sting the heart.
The pain is too much to bear.
A lost soul looking for absolution,
Finding nothing but hurt and anger.
Beauty, unbound and reckless.
Love in its truest form.
You believed in all of us.
The hole you left behind is gaping.
Sorrow
I’m still loving you
My angel
My friend

Lasting Strength
Sherry Clark Oct 2011
So many unanswered questions,
Blossom in my *****.
I see the love in actions,
But never in your eyes.
Never in your touch.
Walls built I cannot break through.
Do you crave my soul as I crave yours?
Does your heart ache with my absence?
Are we destined for eternity?
Or are we destined to fail?
For fear of failure,
The past is bittersweet.
It numbs me.
Reminding of hurt,
Reminding of smiles.
I take a breath and hold it,
Will it be the last?
As I exhale the poison leaves with it.
Doubts and concerns leave me.
I hold you and find peace,
Strength I never knew I had is found.
With the dawn of each new day,
My resolve gets stronger.
I have found my place.
