Sit with me
You don't have to talk, just breathe.
Allow yourself to feel
To cry, to hurt, to sting
But remember all that you feel
Is not all that you are.
So smile,
let go
The pain is behind you,
It does not lead you.
Sometimes it's blinding
To show you that your eyes
Are not needed to show the way.

So please sit with me,
We don't have to talk
Just breathe.

If I could
Take all of the pain away
And store it within myself
Keep it locked away, so that it can't be felt
I would.
If I could
Make it so that your eyes
So beautiful, so sweet
So delicate
Would never have to, or need to, shed a tear
I would.
If I could
Bury the doubt
The sadness, the guilt
The anger
So deep so that it can never be found
I would.
If I could
Exchange your lens for mine
And have you view yourself from my world
So that you never have to look at yourself differently,
Only divine;
I would.

It’s odd to hear the birds
and to have the sun shine down
because it never changes.
Everyday a new chaos is introduced
yet the consistency of the Earth is a familiar acquaintance.

He’s never called me names,
but his uncertainty hurts the most
Eyes straight ahead --
we see through each other.
Intense stares turn
locked to the floor, sideway glances
stop acting childish.
We can’t help it.
My words burned your skin,
but you manage to cover it.
Your words cut my body,
permanent scars remain.

Take me to the seaside
We can talk it all out
While the salt sticks to your skin
The azure waves matching your eyes
Let’s walk to the meadow
And lay upon the grass,
Your fingers interlocking mine.

--

He brought her to the seaside
on a day in December
the salt stuck to her skin --
He’ll always remember.

Azure waves matched the hue of his eyes
inside of them she saw pain
She’d do anything to take away the hurt
the thought made her cry.

All too quickly the sky filled with grey.

elegant and bold,
she is like the rising sun
a cosmic queen’s adored creation
a plasma-laced starchild
making her appearance in my sky
she is a firefly
sparking flames into the night
fragile wings carry her through the journey
to keep my path well-lit

I could walk through the meadow
putting one foot after another,
making the ground move,
letting the sunshine kiss my skin,
trapping a sunflower in my hair.

I could settle down in a cabin
and find fallen pinecones,
and face the blazing fireside,
and live amongst the wolves.

I could love the one who loves me
and the way the clouds move,
and the rumbling thunder
and the green of your eyes.
