You didn't rock the boat

you merely sank it ...

deep
Shadow Walker Jun 2013
See that carbon footprint
the one stomped on the earth
the one that you've been treading in
since the moment of your birth
it's the dog **** on the muddy boot
that stinks of gasoline
it's the plastic bag and broken glass
it's the poison nicotine
it's the mattress in the hedgerow
it's the paint can in the lake
It's the acid in the raindrop
and each promise that we break
see that carbon footprint
the one stamped on liquored breath
that's the one you never noticed
until too late the earth faced death

Laid on the floor

spine broken

words like blood

spilt
A dime store novel read and discarded

Wyverns wings
rend the midnight sky...

spilling its stars
in waterfalls
of broken glass

faceted teardrops reflecting
Windows stained
with blood
depicting

the death of magic

I'm found in songs
sung silently

for fear

I'll hear.

Blank faces
awaiting anothers heartistic hand
to paint a smile

:)
Heartistic is a word I've borrowed from D.E and this is for A.Moonlight after reading her poem The Day We Met

The pit of dispair's calling
it's voice the icy breeze
it's choking hold is hidden
within the limbs of ancient trees
it needs not eyes to see man
nor ears to hear our screams
as it's the stuff of nightmares
that invades our sweetest dreams
the fires of Hell are waiting
the spit is fresh and new
and the demons carved a name on it
Does that name belong to you
the darkness now is looming
the night has run and hid
pull up your sheets and shiver
like you did once as a kid
the end is no more rumour
and man caused it with his hands
by alienating others
and fighting foreign lands
so lock your doors and windows
and by all means say a prayer
but the pit of despair's calling
and will soon be calling there

Yon painted ***** yet coffin fresh
the taste of death warm on her flesh
against mine own I long to press
in unholy union no priest would bless
the scent of grave and rictus grin
egg on my need my want to sin
fragile as the first spring bloom
I lay her gently in my room
and soft I claim her as my prize
not with my hands but with my eyes
she's  somewhat cold yet heats my blood
my freshly plucked from rest Rose bid
with shaking hands I lay her bare
and at her beauty stand and stare
for here tonight before my peers
I'll put to rest such childlike fears
with surgeons fingers such as these
I'll enter her with precise ease
I'll make of her a thing of pleasure
my illicit gift mine stolen treasure
so gentlemen please take a pew
as I perform right here for you
autopsy 101's in session
today the womb's the arranged lesson
thank you Burke thank you Hare
same time tomorrow please take care.
Burke & Hare were Ressurection men ( grave robbers ) whom sold bodies they dug up to the college of medicine to perform autopsies on

In ones kiss may hidden truths be found
by touch and feel devoid of sound
and in these moments let this silence reign
where er' my love we two have lain

---x---

So hush my love and close thine eyes
for what can't speak can ner' tell lies
and let my lips with gentle ease
a tender sigh from thy lips tease

---x---

Lie to me not but lie to me
hear of my heart mine honesty
and know that all unsaid is true
that I will lie always to you
Lie to as in lay against

Oh starling my darling
my love and my life
My music when saddened
my shelter from strife

bread winner protector
come Sun and come rain
in winter you warm me
and drive away pain

My Angel pray hold me
with wings that are mine
and gather me to thee
For now and all time

Heaven...
                    is in your kiss

Hell...
                    is in your leaving

Dawn
breaks on an unforgiving world
as night takes flight
in leathery wings transformed to feathers
sonar becoming sonic boom
as ****** reigns
upon the carrions mournful cries
flames burn blurred horizons
as trailing smoke
transmutes
into a flock of fowl tempered crows
seeking to pluck out the eyes of the blind
that cannot see
that the end of man is not if and when
but simply

HOW
