The forgotten poem

That I dreamed of

All last night…

Those beautifully brilliant

Unwritten words

That I’ll be chasing after

For the rest of my life…

Awkward Phase



A social pariah

Is that who I am?

A lonely- lone wolf…

Or a long lost lamb?

Attacked

For what I lack…

Or for straying

From the pact?

Held in exile

But I had no plans

Of coming back…

Cut from a different cloth

Sown into a new design

Since when…

Did it become a crime-

To have your own mind?

So unique- it hurts

Been this way since birth

There is no need

For you to measure me

I already know my worth

I know what I deserve

I’m never clumsy with my words

I decided to go my own way

While you follow the herd

I’m different

Always have been-Always will be

There’s a beauty in being an outcast

You don’t have to agree

It seems to me

This is no passing craze

My life will always be

One hug awkward phase

Now you wanna kiss me?
It was not so long ago…
When you decided to dismiss me

Oh, so now you wanna be …
More than just friends
Like the past didn’t happen
Am I suppose to pretend?


Oh, so now you regret…
That you said your goodbyes
You didn’t mean to hurt me
…are these just more of your lies?

Oh, so now you miss me?
Am I suppose to rearrange my life?
To accommodate your change of heart
Am I hearing you right?

Oh, so now you miss me?
Well ******…I missed you too
But you were not concerned
So I moved on…and you should too

Oh, so now you miss me?
Too bad…
You don’t fit me
I’m on a search to find someone
Who won’t just –
Up and quit me

...Because you don’t know
So you can’t use it against me
Those who I’ve shown
Have created conditions
To dismiss me
Enemies

Lies thicker than blood
Spill into murky water
Images of forgetful friends
And a neglectful father
Why bother to barter?
When any glimpse of love
Has already been slaughtered

That’s why I keep you
Hidden away
In my head
Safe
Where you’ll stay…

So, you want to leave?
Life will go on without you
…likely with more ease

There’s no certainty
Only death is guaranteed
So keep your receipts

Hear me plead

There is nothing worse

Than the sight of a grown man

Begging

…on his knees

Do you remember how?

Breaker of promises

Betrayer of vows

        … authentically

Without draining my energy

Give back what you took

Love in truth " unconditionally

Don’t leave

At least take this stake out of my heart

And hold me while I bleed

…or lie to me

At least sing your goodbyes to me

Until the love I have for you

Slowly

Completely

Dies in me

Something in the air

Just doesn’t feel right

With you gone-The stars

Don’t seem to shine as bright

Maybe me missing you is wrong

But no one else understands my plight

If I called you right now

Would I have any words to recite?

Would you answer?

Would you be angry?

Or artificially polite?

An argument I can deal with

…but not another lonely night.

Do I truly miss you?

Or do I miss the fire-

Only you can ignite?

There is no behaving

When it’s you I’m craving

My lust has blurred my sight

My lonesome song has won

My pride has taken flight

I quickly dial your number

You answer- to my delight

You sound happy it’s me…

My lip,

I take a bite

Looks like it won’t be…

Just another lonely night

You Mind Your Business
And I'll Be Sure To Mind Mine
...We'll Get Along Fine!

**** and shred the beast
Please, do not feed from it's meat
Death would be relief
