There we were vagrants in my fathers old house
Amid trash , you didn't mind for it was our mess
Just as we are to make it sealed with a kiss
They found us, and forced us to conform.

Take me out, lay me down, let the dirt fall all around
Aint it good to be back home.

I taught you how to play guitar, and duet with me
on the song I love more than the rest, because its yours
Cookie moon, Im so in love with you when you smile

So there I was, shaking the hand of my heroes
who all knew me by name. Some kid opened for an empty floor
and it wasn't me.  no I was after him.
Instead I was going for our first kiss
and there it was, better than all the other dreams
The side stage curtains flapped up with the gust that was us
you kissing me sloppy, I have more teaching to do

There I was with a broken guitar getting it micd
and you over there smiling because you are high
or maybe because you love me too. I dont know
because I woke up a state away, sweating
clutching a pillow I hoped would be you.
