Today is the day
Scott Lasley Aug 2010
Today is the day
i dream of you

Today is the day
i feel your hands
completing mine

Today is the day
your head leans against mine
as we watch Helios
caress Gaia with his hearthy fingers

Today is the day
i kiss your lips
to the sounds of white and black
clapping and cheering—
We’ve done it!

Today is the day
i press my body against yours
with a meaningful presence
of two companions like
two stars colliding
into a great Nova

Today is the day
We walk along the polished
floors of Magic Kingdom
Our child leading Us in a
panicked frenzy
too busy to listen to Our
calls

Today is the day
We smile down upon
Our Grandchild
who giggles and kicks
in an adventurous dream
of Hydras and
Knights and
Maidens

Today is the day
We bolster one another
as Our bones cease to
carry the strength
they once did
but will always
carry the
Acherous Tenderness
that engulfs Us

Today is the day
We are forced to part this world
as life has but a brief limit
the tears shed
and the melodies of life belated
as Two Doves
leave this world
for another journey ahead
for Us
once lost, but now Found!

The Dream
Scott Lasley Aug 2010
My mind plays like a movie,
As the sky turns black,
And my lids grow heavy.

I am a virtuoso and composer,
Hidden from sight and mind,
Ready to show the world his talents.

I am a renowned actor,
Full of passion and emotion,
As I cross the stage in a white half-mask.

I am a rock star,
With a broad grin and sure eyes,
Inhaling the cheers and chants.

I am a best friend,
Hand across the shoulder,
As tears roll down her cheek.

The sky is stained blue,
And my eyes open and I realize
I am none of these things.

Modern Civalry
Scott Lasley Aug 2010
I gingerly place my hands on your silk back
as you climb aboard the
maypole
but is this right?
is this
True?

What is True?
why does my gentle heart flutter at the thought
of your
naked
Body
on top of mine?

Will you stop me?
will you help me save my honor?
I can only be so chivalrous
my steed can only gallop so many miles

Why does my wicked mind turn to the image
of you
with round—bare
eyes staring into mine
as our lips
Interlock
in a Loving embrace?

I wish—
I wish to walk side by side
with you
along the ocean shore
a beautiful bay steed for us both
I want that to be reality

Deep in my lifeforce
I only desire to defend you
with my mystical sword
for I have no desire to wield my organic sword
it has the power to betray and harm
as it did for Lancelot

Should the spirits take me
will you stop and assist me
in maintaining my honor?
if they take us both
shall we fall off the Edge of the World?
shall we approach the Gates of Oblivion
along the shores of Acheron and Styx?

Why must my mind and heart be
in constant warfare?
the Barbarians against the Gallant Knights.
whom shall win?
My knights are indeed heroic
but the base passions of the barbarians
give keenness to their axes and spears

And what about you milady?
will you stop yourself
knowing
my honor?
I pray that you will kiss me
and Love shall take
Us
along a pleasant path.
but - forgive me
I cannot
trust
you yet.

I long for the day when I can
Feel
Your hands
intertwined-in-mine-like-vines
as you smile into my eyes
not as a lover
but as a
Companion

Little Luna
Scott Lasley Aug 2010
Little Luna
sitting in the sky
won’t you come down
and play with me?

Little Luna
sitting in the sky
aren’t you lonesome
beautifying the darkness?

Little Luna
sitting in the sky
how can I reach you
and become one with your serene hue?

I want to be more than
a glowing sphere
I want to light the world on fire
and watch it char to ash

I want to shed my light
on false hopes
and broken promises
disguised by Sol’s cloak

I want to betray Gaia
and steal Sol’s chariot
watching the trees absorb my rays
just for one day

Little Luna
sitting in the sky
won’t you come down
and tell me you love me?
